39A manufacturer date confusion

Hi all,

I'm a little confused with the date of manufacturer with one of my rifles.
I have a 1979 Original Golden-39M, That one was easy to work out.

The other one I'm having trouble with, barrel is marked as follows.
"The Marlin Firearms Co. New Haven Conn.U.S.A. CAL. 22 S.L.&L.R MICRO-GROOVE BARREL ORIGINAL GOLDEN-39, (with gold inlay).
It does NOT have JM stamped on the barrel like my 39-M. It also does NOT have REP stamped on the right side of the barrel. The serial number is MR18240B on the top receiver tang. I know it's a latter built one.
The rifle itself is beautifully made fit and finish, with very nice checkered walnut.
Rifle also shoots fantastic with no problem what so ever. I've owned it for about 8 years, it was part of a collection.

If I could work out how to post a picture or two I would.
I live way down south in New Zealand.
Thanks in advanced for any reply's received.

My confusion is that it has MR in front of the serial number, which I though only happened after Remington took over.

And they etched the number on the left side of the receiver.
Probably put together with left over parts by Remington.

Most likely the couple years when rem first took over. Definitely not an 82 so 07 or 08 or maybe 09

"MR" stands for MARLIN REMINGTON

You can't use any of the standard date codes from the MARLIN era.
