The last club match of the year for the club 1.5 hours east of Houston. Beautiful weather with not much wind.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~25X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 10-3-20
Class: AAA/Master

Round #1, Standard Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 29

Started on Rams and missed all five on the first bank. Managed to pull it together for the rest of the match but it sure hurt my score.

Round #2, Hunter Rifle
Chickens - 7
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 27

Started on Turkeys and thought I had shaken off the bad shots, but then came the Rams again...

I'll have air rifle scores tomorrow.

Monthly air rifle club match. Another beautiful day with relatively light winds.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 10-4-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: Master
Anschutz Super Air 2002
Sightron @ 24X
JSB Diablo Exact (7.33) pellets

Chickens - 10 (woot!)
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 33

Another Master score and I needed the 10 in a row Chickens put me one step closer towards a Grand Slam.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 33

Another 33 is good for me!

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms HFT-500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Diablo Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 33

A third 33.

I've gotten an aggregate score of 99 only once before. Was kind of hoping to break 100 going into Open rifle but I'm happy with my scores.

Wednesday evening practice before our smallbore match this Saturday.

The mosquitos were absolutely atrocious! All the standing water from T.S. Beta a few weeks back made the population explode. They were so bad we almost didn't finish the second match!

SK Rifle Match
Date: 10-7-20
Class: AAA/Master

Round #1, Standard Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 31

Started on Turkeys and did pretty well across the board.

Round #2, Hunter Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 31

Started on Pigs but when we got to Turkeys the light winds stopped completely and the mosquitos swarmed us. Not sure how I managed 9 Rams but I'll take it.

Club match this weekend. Hopefully the wind will be up just a little bit to keep the mosquitos tamped down.

Our club match. The Mosquitos were still around but not quite as bad, and a slight bit of wind kept them at bay occasionally.

The one missed Pig... through the hole between the legs.
Elisabeth Steiger shot a 39 this round missing one Turkey!

Round #2, Hunter Rifle
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 9
TOTAL - 34 (woot!)

34 is just one point behind my personal best score for smallbore. Also, it was a year and a day (October 9th) when I shot my last 34 in Hunter rifle.

Air rifle practice with the guys. Had a 10 MPH wind that kept things interesting.

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 10-21-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: Master
Anschutz Super Air 2002
Sightron @ 24X
JSB Diablo Exact (7.33) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8

Could have used a few more Chickens and Pigs but not a bad score given the wind.

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200
Leupold M8 24X
JSB Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 29

Started on Turkeys and only hit one on the first bank. Luckily everything picked up after that.

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms HFT-500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Diablo Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 10
TOTAL - 33

Missed my 10th Turkey because the wind picked up and I misjudged the compensation. Not happy about giving away so many Chickens and Pigs again, but so it goes.
