Some how in my infinitely poor organizing and hoarding techniques I lost the stock rear sight for this pistol. I have several rear sights but not one with this big of a dove tail. On this gun the sight dove tail is approximately 0.556 at the widest point.
Are all Ruger pistol dove tails that big? Anyone have a spare that needs a new home? Thanks in advance. The sights compatible in Midway USA do not look large enough. Comments state you need a extra tall front sight. This particular Ruger already has a tall front sight.

I got an extra rear sight from Volquartsen for my Mark II. They have new take off sights at times.

I have the Volquartsen TL rear sight on my Government Target Model 6". Works great with the Ruger front sight. Got mine from Rimfire Sports & Custom, $70, free shipping. Description states "The sight is only compatible with bull barreled models of the MK I, Mark II, Mark III, Mark IV, and 22/45 pistols. No fitting required as it uses the factory dovetail and locks in place with two set screws. Rear sight notch width is .110" and replaces the factory rear adjustable sight."

for me

Volquartsen was running these not too long ago on eBay so I snagged one just for the heck of it!

https://www.ebay.com/itm/22456850866...oAAOSwG0lhFBg1

I have purchased at least 1/2 dozen items from them on eBay and when you click on "watch" this item, within a few days they email you an offer to buy it for even less. I paid $42.80 for this sight delivered that are normally over $100. No better deals anywhere.

They have a lot of good deals on Ebay. I was taking a look and saw they have the stainless trigger blems for $20. That's less than half the price on their website, and the blemishes are on the trigger rear, and can't be seen once installed.

I should send you the bill for the money I'm about to spend!

But really, at $20..... such a good deal. I was thinking about finding a stocker to put an overtravel screw in. Pre travel doesn't seem to bug me anyway really, and the stock trigger shape and texture is fine with me. But for $20.... easier to just buy the VQ and be done.

I do like the TL sights. My plan is to go with an optic on the Ruger, but having a larger back blade is something I always like myself. Who knows, I might end up snagging one just in case. IIRC they also have a finer adjustment than the OEM, which is about 3 MOA per click.

Yes, on some of the deals they actually made me feel guilty taking advantage of them! I am not sure I like the tritium dots on the rear sight blade but I don't know yet as I should be mounting them up soon. I suppose I could take a semi-permanent black marker to them or cover them up with black tape if needed.

Might come in handy though in the deep dark forest trying to nail another Blue (Dusky) Grouse. Back in the day, I took three with three head shots out of one tree with a S&W 14 .38 special. I can still remember the location on a hill up from Crosho Lake near Yampa, CO.

I would bet a plain blade would cost more than I paid for the entire sight but maybe I should ask.

Consider the Kensight. It is worth it with a deeper notch.

I got a factory take-off sight from Wirthwein Guns a year ago, but it seems that they are out of stock.

But, it looks like this might fit:

I'm not sure what this question is referencing, but in the MKII series Ruger made bull barrels in 4", 5.5", 6.88", 8" and 10" with the 10" being slightly tapered. Slab sided barrels in 5.5", 6.88" and 8".
