Glad to see you are attempting to restore it, and hope you will continue posting pics of the restoration.
BTW, I recently purchased one of those old Anschutz diopter sights and installed it on my 1710. Really like the function of the sight and it complements the rifles looks as well.
I have a couple that are near pristine, but something enjoyable about doing a little work to them too.

No problem, maybe take a picture of the bottom to show the adjustment screws as well.

Looks like a 1411-U2, Three pound, single stage trigger.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so, like I wrote in a few entries back this thing acts just like my hair trigger, two stages, and very light pull. Less than 1oz first stage, maybe 4-7oz 2nd.

I could be wrong, but it does look like a 1408D-U1 or a 1411-U2 single stage. as to how light the release it may have been reworked, T.T Shooter can redo one of them to have less than 3-oz. now as for having a 1st stage it may very well be creep you are experiencing.
try following the instructions as noted, adjust screw #79 this will take away any pre-movement or creep which could be what seems like a 1st stage.

I have one of the ones TT shooter modified and it is excellent, but feels much different than this one. whether or not that first stage could be all play and not intended to be there is possible. I thought I remember hearing about an early one that looks very much like the 3# one,but was a true two stage?

I have an early 64 action, junior varminter, that has a two stage trigger on it. It is a crude and simplistic design, but still a 2 stage on a hunting rifle would give cause to believe they would've offered an advanced version on their target rifles.
