Practice: TQ-14 50-foot paper, indoor
Date: 10-5-16
Class: AA
CZ-452 Silhouette
Weaver T-16
SK Standard Plus

Round #1:
Chickens - 7
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 9 (missed the last one, grr.)
TOTAL - 30

Round #2:
Chickens - 6
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 4
TOTAL - 22

Got sloppy half way through the second round and it went down from there. The last shot on the rams barely stayed on the paper.

Match #1, meters, club match
Date: 10-8-16
Class: AA
CZ-452 Silhouette
Weaver T-16
SK Standard Plus

(Listed in order shot.)

Round #1:
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 7
Chickens - 6
Pigs - 7
TOTAL - 23

Round #2:
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 5
Chickens - 3 (ouch again!)
TOTAL - 20

Drier air rolled in yesterday so it was quite nice.

Fell apart on my final chickens again. I think I need to start on a different animal next time so I don't end up on chickens for my final animal.

Still, keeping my scores consistently at 20 or above is better than I used to be.

Air rifle silhouette match next weekend so I'll post some scores afterwards.

Round #1:
CZ-452 Silhouette
Weaver T-16
SK Standard Plus

Chickens - 3
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 3
Rams - 6
TOTAL - 21

The birds were getting my goat on this round.

Round #2:
Air Arms TX200
Weaver V-16 @16X
Diablo Field Heavy 10.3 pellets

Chickens - 5
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 21

The weight of the TX200 is great for holding steadier. Unfortunately the smaller pellet means it's harder to claim a hit when it's right on the edge. If the same holes were .22 I probably would have had 6-7 more points.

DIVISION- HUNTER
SHOOTER CLASS-"AA"
FIREARM-CZ 452 SILHOUETTE
OPTIC-WEAVER V-24
AMMO-AGUILA SUBSONIC
TARGETS-NRA 1/5 STEEL SPINNERS
WEATHER-65*...SUNNY...WIND <5MPH

CHICKENS-7

I got cocky after hitting 7 chicks to start.(I thought, "Man, this is easy") Rebounded on the rams, but too little, too late. Big lapse in concentration.

That happens to me too.

I really start knocking them down and start to think to myself, "Man, I'm on fire!"

Then I miss a whole bank.

Match #1, air rifle (20 yards - 45 yards)
Date: 10-16-16
Class: AA
Air Arms TX200
Weaver V-16
Diablo Field Heavy 10.3 pellets

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 6
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 5
Total - 23

A couple of regulars and I set up the air rifle resettable targets and held a friendly/practice match. It was my first time shooting the TX200 with the heavy pellets at the four distances so I was adjusting things a bit as I went along.

Managed to somehow break my TX200 at the start of the second round so I was done for the day.

I started dropping shots on the second round, usually an indicator of fatigue.

Club match this weekend so I'll have some official scores to post Saturday afternoon.

Welcome back COW 54.

Nice score for your first match.

Hope you become a regular. You could school us "lesser" shooters.

Match #1, meters, club match
Date: 10-22-16
Class: AA
CZ-452 Silhouette
Weaver T-16
SK Standard Plus

(Listed in order shot.)

Round #1, Standard rifle:
Chickens - 8 (FIAR)
Pigs - 8 (FIAR)
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 3 (boo)
TOTAL - 25

Round #2, Hunter Rifle:
Rams - 6
Chickens - 9 (FIAR)
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 3 (boo)
TOTAL - 25

Notes: beautiful day for a match; dry, sunny, and in the 60's and 70's. I changed the position of my support hand slightly rearward and it seemed to help the stability a bit.

Also, if I had gotten one more hit on the Hunter match I would have had my third AAA score to bump me up. Still, two 25's are really solid scores for me.

Not great scores today but good practice nonetheless.
