On my kit the trigger has the post travel screw all the way out. So I will put a drop of blue on it and make it flush with trigger. I can always readjust after put together. My ? Is on the pre travel screw? It’s screwed in and you see the threads. So do you put it together and turn counter clockwise to get the right pre travel then add the blue. What’s a good starting point for that pretravel screw Thanks!
My experience has been with the MKII, but the concept is the same. You need to find the point where the trigger will just barely let the hammer fall and then turn it counter clockwise another 3/4 turn or so. On my particular pistol, the optimum point was when the head of the screw was recessed slightly in the face of the trigger, which is perfect. In some cases the optimum point would leave the screw sticking out in front of the face of the trigger which would irritate the finger. In that case I would have to file a little bit off of the rear of the adjustment screw. You have to take a little time to study the mechanics of the trigger and adjustment screw before any filing is done.
It’s the top pre travel set screw I don’t know where to start. The post travel screw you feel pulling the trigger I will try that flush with the trigger. I would not want that screw pressing on my trigger finger either.

With my first TK Victory trigger upgrade (MkIV Hunter), I installed the pretravel\overtravel screws, Then set the trigger in the grip frame and made all adjustments till I had minimal take up\minimal break\proper reset actions on the trigger performance.
I then removed the trigger from the frame, and screws from the trigger. I added a small drop of Loctite Blue 242 to the screw threads and reinserted the PT\OT screws to the same depth I had for proper performance. Finally, I reinserted the trigger back in the grip frame, then tested and fine tuned the PT\OT settings before the thread lock started to harden (20 minutes of movement lead-way).
My second TK Victory trigger install (MkIV 22\45 Lite) went much easier and faster. Basically, I skipped the initial setting depth trials and went straight to loctiting the PT\OT screws in the trigger (close to the same depth as the Hunter's trigger), installed the trigger in the 22\45 grip frame and fine tuned all setting performances!
Both screws are difficult to start and adjust while installed in the trigger with it in the grip frame (especially the PT screw). Pre-install\pre-setting the screws with just the trigger is Much Easier and Faster! I'm not sure what the VQ installation process\procedures are, but the above was my successful experience and I'm sure, there are better ways to skin-the-cat!!

Yea that's why I wanted a idea where to start the screws before I put it in the trigger housing. Does not look like enough room for the wrench so it will take awhile. Thanks Ted!
I shot 40 rds through mine yesterday with no problem I set mine for a little bit of pretravel then break the glass! For the overtravel I turned the screw tell the gun would not fire then gave it about a half turn back and then the hammer would drop.Once you know how to do it it’s pretty easy to adj the screws. I may have a tad more pre then 1/16 but I did not want any problems with my trigger resetting. It works fine for me with a tad of pre then I know when it’s gonna be squirrel head ready I really like the VQ kit Better then the majestic arms . I just read there is another maker with a new trigger kit. They claim it will give you a 3.5 lb trigger pull. I read that and said why would someone want only a 3.5 lb when there are better options available

Have 1\16" PT on both my TK Victory triggers (MkIV Hunter and 22\45 Lite). Hundreds of action fires and perfect resets every time!
Have you performed a pull test yet? You should be right around the 2# range. Heck, just dropping in the VQ sear + disconnector got my Hunter from 5.25# down to 2# alone! With the TK Victory trigger, it's down to a crisp, consistent 1.25#!!
Sounds like you have your Volquartsen trigger dialed in. I agree with everything you said, just a tad extra pre-travel is a good thing. I've been a Volquartsen trigger and accuracy kit fan for years. They just keep constantly improving them all along. I do have a Tandemkross trigger in my SW22 as I don't think Volquartsen was making them for that pistol at the time. The Volquartsen accuracy kit that I installed in my most recently acquired Ruger MKII Target pistol is the best trigger pull that I have ever had on a Ruger semi-auto pistol, and I've owned a few!
I found that about an eighth inch of pre-travel works well. If you have too little, the sear might not reset and you'll have a dead trigger, when you pull it. I had this happen, got in touch with VQ and they told me this. I tried it and it works.
No pull test yet. Probably a tad over 2lb. Little over 1/8 pre travel. Check out that new Apex trigger kit says should give your mark IV 22/45 a crisp 4.5 trigger pull
