Well you all have me convinced on the shot. I'm going to run down pricing via doc or if I can get it at the pharmacy. Not sure about insurance on this, I'll czech into it.

Spent the day trying to bring up a laser marker at work. I have a ghost dvd. The machine needed a new cooling fan (thermal shutdown corrupted the file system).

The original PATA DVD drive died, I had a hard time finding a replacement but did. Same for the cooling fan for a Pentium M.

Anyway, the new PATA drive didn't want to boot off of the ghost dvd, though it did once out of 50 tries and I hit the wrong button and ended the session.

A usb dvd was able to boot off of the ghost dvd but couldn't read the partition with the ghost files. However, once it booted, I put the dvd in the other dvd drive and it was happy reading the partition with the ghost files.

Once I had a working HDD, I found out that the backup was the lasers state before the integrators did their work.

I have files I scraped off the failed drive that should let me get it back in operation tomorrow. Thirteen years old and it is ancient hardware.

I'm starting to feel like a relic, maintaining relics.

I don’t have time to ketchup.

The tree was cut and stacked at the curb by 7:30 this morning.

Living off generator. It’s getting amazing economy due to no air conditioning

Anybody had good results with this?

Mrs. Cow just laid in a supply.

I had to laugh, it was packed with ORM-D sticker on the outside...

Fun read BW.

It's a long story for now, but in short my short "Gumball Rally" ended at a light pole in front of the Sheriff's department Friday night / Saturday morning of labor day weekend 1978. '73 Pontiac Lemans which on a couple of previous occasions had the 120 mph speedometer pegged.

Once made a 1050 mile run in just under 15 hours including stops and about half of it in rain. Averaged a bit over 70 mph back when the feds mandated a 55 mph max. Wasn't intentionally trying to see how quick I could drive it, just wanted to get home.

Fastest driven was 137 mph in a lightly tweaked early 70's Vette.

You'd need a bomb proof windshield.

I’ve slowed down a little in my late fifties but always needed to fulfill the need for speed when younger.
Knew the top speed of every motorcycle I ever owned with fastest of the time being a Honda GL1000 that I had up to 155 and still climbing. It become difficult to keep feet on pegs and got to thinking the full fairing shaking may come apart. While on our way home from a fishing trip up nort had a Porsche 944 whipping around cars in rear view mirror. I punched my pedal on my 69’ Toranado when he was about ready to pass and hit 170 with other driver trying to pass at 120. He never got by without me allowing it. When he did his jaw was on the floor. Never did that again as this was a newly opened stretch of US131 that had just opened south of Big Rapids.
A highly tuned 85’ Ford F-250 Diesel(pre power stroke) was capable of wrapping the speedometer at max of 85 all the way around to 25mph, we figured 140+ as my cousin a cop said follow me as we were trying to beat the clock to an archery tournament. I blew his doors off passing him and said he was maxed out in Chevy at 125. North of Ionia to 54th St in GR in twenty minutes with time to spare. Shooting didn’t go as well as morning practice due to a little adrenaline buildup😎

Been pulled over in excess of 120 with just warnings, lucky I guess. Nouf of that anymore!

Cockroaches and Oreos. Even if nothing else does, they will survive.

I still like to go fast, but likewise have slowed way down. Correct about enough about that anymore. Never had what would be considered performance vehicles, but drove what I had to its limit at times. Did get a couple of speeding tickets in my youth for 5-10 over the limit and a careless driving ticket for the light pole that jumped out in front of me.

Been in more accidents than I can recall, but only one at fault. Avoided many, but hard to avoid getting rear ended when stopped at a red light.

I'd always heard it would be Cockroaches and Twinkie's....

I've hit 143 mph in a Caprice Classic with the LT1 engine and a newly calibrated Speedometer a couple of times, just don't expect any handling. Back in my salad days Chevy's were fast but handled like wounded Elephants and Fords handled but topped out around 125 mph. I preferred Ford's but drove what they gave me.

135 mph in my buddies 1972 Datsun 240z on route 80. 150 mph in a Porsche turbo with my buddies girlfriend driving. She was a Porsche nut. Again on route 80. The crazy stuff you do when young. Itís not like we kept the speeds for a long time. Once the speedometer hit the mark, it was throttle down.

Got a new Datsun 280 Z in 1977. Had to get up to 160 to peg it. Did it twice, then the thought of what would happen if I sneezed helped get it out of my system.
