Just a suggestion on the rubberized stocks. They can look a sickly gray if left untreated. I've been putting Turtle Wax F21 Protectant on my synthetic stocks and pistol grips and they really look great. The stock darkens down a bit and the color gets richer. It is not greasy or unpleasant to touch. FYI. This product used to be known as Formula 2000 then Formula 2001.
Here's a picture of a treated stock.

Factory VLEH

Changed out the Harris 'pod for a cleaner UTG variety that mounts to a mini-rail on the sling post. Available in 2 sizes, takes 10 seconds to switch over.
One-piece scope mount from DNZ ("Game Reaper")
Nikon 4x32 ProStaff scope.

More to come, I'm sure, but that's it for now.

And targets from the first shoot/sighting-in. Obviously, the three best...

Obviously!!.......and why not? I have posted on this forum before about cherry picked targets. People like looking at nice targets, why should they not?

If you post on a car forum, you post the nicest pics you have of your car, not one where it is dirty and wrecked.......same here.

Nice Hogue Ulitimate and nice shooting!! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks.

I'm curious, though - I caught mention somewhere of someone's gun not being a "true Ultimate" in RFC terms. What is the definition?

Edit: Not to worry - I found the definition. Duh.... I'll deliver my own face-palm.

Guess I don't understand your edit, but I will say this. Ultimate has a very diverse cross section of guns here. There are other sub-forums for other guns, such as military and tactical, stock 10/22's, ect.

Some here don't like the Hogue stock, but the Hogue Ultimate thread still receives a bump to the top on a regular basis. There is a reason for that, I know, I have one posted here. That rifle, for it's intended purpose, is Ultimate.

Again, nice shooting and nice rifle............later.

WOW some sharp guns in this thread!! Planning to start a 10/22 build soon and really like the Hogue stock. Not sure if I want to use a bull barrel or standard barrel. The gun would be a squirrel killer/range gun.

I painted this Hogue Nylon up for my daughter and put several coats of Alumahyde clear on it. We've since traded the rifle for a Ruger American Rimfire that she preferred, but I kept the stock. I have a VLEH 1230 coming from Ruger as a replacement for my DCW. I have thoughts of opening the barrel channel on this stock and dropping the VLEH in. Or I might just sell the purple stock. Fun little project with my daughter.
