First 25 yard targets Iíve shot since sometime in July and it showed. First target was a 242, the second a 246. Good enough and it was nice to get out and shoot again.

Before shooting those two targets, I was sighting in another rifle with a new scope at the 100 yard range when I noticed some movement at the bottom of the scope. Looking up I saw 4 turkeys walking behind the target stand. (No, it never even crossed my mind) I got a picture with my phone just before they climbed up and over the berm.

Welcome back Ray. Nice target. I know you will knock the rest of that rust off with the other great shooters you have before the end of the month. Someone did predict a 250 for this month.

Old Sarg....... my best of the month targets are still fails along side some of these guys. That's why I only post one target a month. LOL. No one needs to see the atrocious fails.

SourMash, I killed two squirrels this morning But I shot at three, If my hunting is any indication, Looks like I'm still scoring below a 246

Ray, It appears those turkeys know that your shooting range is a 'gun free zone'; at least it is for them anyway

OK..... I'll pony up and admit to my exploits today. Temps here dropped into the 60s today and it was wonderful. A little breezy to start but it started to lay and I was shooting some pretty good groups with the Tacticool so I decided to shoot my first target of the month. Man, I was smoking, for me and was working a 248 heading to the last row. Needless to say, I"m not posting that target. How do you throw 2 8s on the last row. Certainly wasn't overconfident cause I was begging for good stuff. Have no idea but it was x, 8, 10, 8, x. To make things worse, I just knew that it was all me and that I could do better so I hung another target and was down 4 on the first row. I'm going back to my ice cream now.

Lastombstone, In anticipation of scoring a 248, do you think you shot that last row faster than the other rows? I know I let a squirrel get away today because I rushed the shot. If I had taken another half a second to aim he would have been dead.

It didn't seem like I was rushing but I might have. I had really slowed down my pace. Even had the spotting scope set up and I would step back and review each row before starting the next. Maybe what I really need is one of those setups like they use for biathlon that covers the target as soon as it is hit. But we all know that we instantly see that bad hit.

It's like golf. Got to keep your head down. I have used a metal backstop before a few feet behind the target . Helps me follow through. Try not to move nothing until I hear the ding.

I went out yesterday to shoot....lets just say I got to shoot. I don't know what happened but it was bad enough that I quit on the first row. It was cooler than normal here, mid 80's and just a small breeze. Everything felt good, maybe I too, rushed the shot.

New front/rear bags on order, scoring gauge arrived over the weekend...I'd be at the range right now if I weren't stuck in Atlanta working all week...oh, well. Weekend range trip!

As my buddy and new to here shooter RDWaker says, "this stuff is just addicting". Welcome to the madness ShooterReady. You are on the same path I took....... buy more stuff and scores will soar. I'm still buying but haven't really soared yet.
