A wonderful year to one and all.
Was thinking.......10 years ago tonight it was Y2K. My many years (over 40 years) buddy Dan Boone and I were camping in the Mojave. Got down to 16* that night in my tent. We shot fireworks (one each) on the half hour and a bunch every hour leading up to midnight. Champagne was drunk. There was
other entertainment
We figured if the world was gonna end (Y2K) we might as well already be as primitive as it gets. Way up on a mountain there was a circle of motor homes and they must have shot $2000 in fireworks that night including several that went THROUGH their camp instead of up.
Crazy stuff in our camp too. Laughed so hard I almost puked. Dan and I made
many New Years trips to the desert. Some times with other friends and sometimes just him and I. I think we made something like 20 straight years.
Lot's of shooting during the days and freezing in the tent after sitting around a roaring fire. Great times.
Missed my first one 6 years ago when I moved to TN.
