Buying a new Mark III but unsure which one?

I'm getting ready to order an Mark III but not sure if I should go with the target or Hunter.

I have had several Mark I and Mark IIs in the past and always wanted a Stainless Slab Side but I don't see that configuration any longer available on the Ruger web site.

Any preferences to the fluted Hunter versus the target?

Which one do you guys like better and for why. I'm looking for this to be an all around .22 rimfire pistol as I sold all the other .22 pistols I had. this one will be used for target shooting, target leagues, tin cans, and perhaps even small game if the "SHTF"!

I have two nice 10/22s so I don't have to rely entirely on the pistol, just nice to have a rimfire pistol around.

I really like my MK III SS 4.5 Hunter now that I have Tech Teach's after market grip panels on it.

They are fine pistols if you have always wanted one don't settle for less.

i went for the MKIII HUNTER 5.5" Talo edition

4.5" inch is too short and 67/8 inch is too long for me.

KMKIII512H is the model

I agree with Recumbent. I have a 5.5 target model and the slabside and love them both

I prefer the Hunter with the 6 7/8" barrel. The sights are a thing the consider. HiVis sites on the Hunter seem to be a love-hate thing. In the end I have one model and am still wanting another!

Well.... I pulled the trigger (No Punn Intended) on the 6 7/8" hunter model. It felt right and I think it will be a good versatile pistol.

I have always wanted a slab-side but I'll be very happy with this gun too.

I went with a 6 7/8 fluted hunter because i liked the look of the fluted better than the slabside and I wanted the high vis sights. I did however change the rear site blade out for a target square notch. Congrats on your new purchase i dont think you will be disapointed..... I wasnt.

Hello. New to the site. Looking forward to learning a lot from the pros here.
Just bought a mark 3 target 5.5 bull barrel. I wanted the hi vis front sight but decided to install a $70 supressor with hi vis sights. Saved $70 on the gun and spent $70 to get the flash suppressor with hi vis front sight. It adds about
1/2" to the overall length. The fluted barrel looks nice though.
