Almost a year with my Grand Finale
It is a few months away from a year owning my GF and I like it better than any of my CZ 452's. That is something I thought I would never say as much as I care for my FS 22's. When I first bought it I was thinking that I paid a lot of money for a 452 dressed up to look nice. Now I don't even think of what it cost me and I wouldn't sell it for half again what I paid for it. I can't figure out why but it just feels better in my hands than any 22 rifle I own. Maybe it is just because I am so satisfied with it and how well it shoots. I did the trigger PMTJ when new to 12oz. and after some break in I lightened it to 8 oz. and it passes the bump test fine and this is not going to be my hunting rifle with the others I can use for that. I put a shim in the barrel channel before ever shooting it because the stock would slap the barrel if you bumped on the bottom of the fore end. Must have got lucky the first time with the shims and I would be afraid to change a thing as it shoots as well as I can shoot. I also have shims in over half my other CZ 452's. I tried the free float on some CZ's of mine and they didn't shoot as good as shims in the channel.
I know some were not happy with the wood on theirs but I got lucky with getting a pretty nice one so I have been happy with mine. Mine likes RWS rifle and pistol target ammo along with a very good lot # of SK standard +. It is decent with some of the lots of CCI standards but nothing quite as well as the RWS and SK.
So here is my GF that many of the members have already seen on here but this is for maybe new members to see the first time.

Here is a few targets I had in my drawer. I don't save targets. I just log my ammo brand and lot number with group size and conditions on the day. The cards were shot at 40 yds. off my back porch with the GF. The 510 Rem. ammo box was just what was on the bench to lean them against.

Missed posting a picture
This target was shot at the end of a long shooting session shooting the Know your limit spinner target. I love shooting the KYL spinners. I would rather just shoot the last four and forget the first four. The first four are to big at 50 yds. On the last round when were finishing up I shot 14 shots left in my box at the 1/4" spinner at 50 yds. with the Grand Finale and hit it 12 for 14 shots using RWS rifle target ammo. Then I finished thirteen rounds left in a box of SK+. Five through the GF and five through a recently acquired reproduction Win. 52. The 52 put the first three in the same hole but the next two were touching the bottom of the first three. Still good for a sporter with a not high powered scope. Only three left for the Anschutz 1416 and my friend shot them with his 1416 HB. Also the Winchester was a real pain to get it to shoot but it does well now and is in the game now close to the GF but not quite as consistent. I hate the Micro-Motion trigger and a few other things on the Win. 52 but may keep it through squirrel season to hunt with it. This is the sixth reproduction Win. 52 I have owned. Just can't get attached to them.

Awesome. Definitely a keeper long term! And a looker!
I'm going to have to try the barrel shim thing. What material do you use?
I don't have any 452s that I'm unhappy with, accuracy wise, but I would give it a try to see if it makes them even better...

Congradulations, georgeous rifle, your post is very reassuring to me, as I just ordered one, that hasn't arrived yet. Hope mine looks and shoots as good as yours.

Congratulations on a real looker.Mine was starting to show a some wear on the jeweling on the bolt. I now use a very light coat of Crosman pellet rifle oil on it and that oil stays where you put it and the wear has not changed since I switched to that oil for lubrication. Probably more than 2,000 rounds ago. My bolt also works silky smooth now. If I get my wife a new one I will use that oil from day one on the bolt.

Thank you the update. I almost wish you had not posted this. If you catch my drift.

FYI; as an airgun enthusiast, who spent a fortune on 1oz tubes of Crossman pellet gun oil, a long time pellet gun smith shared the secret, Crossman pellet gun oil is really just two-cycle engine oil like you use in your weed trimmer or chain saw.

This one turned up for $500 with a Tasco 6-24 scope and rings and bases and I know they bring more than that and knew I wouldn't get hurt on buying it. I gave the Tasco scope away. My wife out shot me by a good margin yesterday shooting the KYL spinner targets with my Trainer 452 and me shooting the Mod.52. I was giving up a little on scope power but she was on her game and would have won any way. This 52 is the best shooting 52 I have owned but not as good as most of my 452 CZ's. My two FS 22's and the Grand Finale are quite a bit more consistent day to day than the Winchester. It may stay here through squirrel season.

I used cut-out pieces of a very hard plastic credit card and shimmed my 452's at the tang and two just in front of the chamber. But I also would like to hear how Bandit1250 shimmed his Finale.
I know some use rubber bicycle inner tube; but I worried that it would soften or just break down with time. I wanted to use something that wouldn't change under pressure, temperature or time. It's been a couple of years now since I shimmed them with the card plastic and still no change in the way they shoot. One is for targets and one is for hunting.
Bandit1250, I could probably get used to the wood on your Finale, but there's no way I will ever buy one unless money falls from heaven.
