Has anyone tried the thunderbolts lately ? They had them at Academy in Belton Mo. today for 28.99 a brick. Did not buy any, am pretty well stocked up.

Wife and I ran through half a 500 round box without a single issue in our M&P22C, M&P22 Fullsize and my Sig Mosquito.

We only ended the range session because of 2 guns with slide failures. The .22 Mosquito and DB9FS 9mm.

Matter of fact I just broke open a box of 500 however, I've had it for a long time. (Could be 5+ years old). I used it to do some initial & sight in work on a couple pistols and a couple rifles. I think you are looking for potential improvement in recent production and what I have is far from that.

In fact in the S&W 22-S pistol (recently acquired) it shot the best group right next to SK Pistol Match & Norma Match. I probably shot half that box over the past week and have not had one single failure. Only thing I noted at the range was that it was shooting 1" higher in the rifles @ 50 yards than other (1050-1080 fps) standard velocity ammo. The Remington Thunderbolt is rated at 1,255 fps which accounts for the difference. The rifles included two S&W 15-22's and a CZ 512, CZ 452 FS, and a CZ 455 American. Again not one single failure in any of those rifles.

I consider this part of my utility ammo for plinking and/or sight-in work.

It was the only bulk ammo I could get to run my Sig (GSG) 1911-22 reliably and accuracy seemed good. This was several years back. I just recently purchased a brick at dumhams and about 1/2 way through it without failure through my buckmark hunter. Accuracy also seems on pair with my level of shooting.

I have a couple of boxes of Thunderbolts that I'm working on right now. I have no complaints other than they are dirty. I like them a lot better than Golden Bullets.

My first choice for bulk .22 ammo is Federal AutoMatch.

Yup, I think they go to extra trouble on the quality control when Walmart is purchasing them.......

If you want the best accuracy with the guns you mentioned try standard velocity ammo. Shrink groups size by 50%. Works great in all my 5 22 handgun. One. Of them is the sig.

Thunder Turds

I wondered how long it would take for the 100 count Thunder Turds picture to be posted. The first time I saw that I laughed so hard I fell off my dinosaur. Ditto for the Walmart comments. I hope you got the joke-- the snide comments are getting very tiresome.

I shot at a Precision Pistol match today and the guy to my right used Remington T-bolts in an older Ruger MkII tapered barrel. He didn't have an alibi all 90 rounds. I was amazed. Either he got a good lot number, or is a lucky man.
