All this really was is a test to see if a fv or bv purchase was justified in terms of decent accuracy in a savage bolt gun. This thing is weird thou it will shoot well under .250 and will put 4 in a zero the other side comes out and it freaks out on me, but it served its purpose and heck its not even bedded or had anything else done but the trigger absolutely sucks

Happy day everybody

Went off to the range yesterday to try to shoot a respectable target or two with CZ trainer #2..

T2 ready to rumble:

Tested out some (new-to-me) Aguila Pistol Match ammo

...and holy cow!! T2 really liked the stuff!! Here's what happened...

new entry for your consideration!

Now, the good part!! We were shooting with IRON SIGHTS! .... ....

CZ452 trainer #2
Brno match sights
Aguila pistol match ammo
25 yds, 4 x 5-shot groups
witnessed by range officer

Guys, this is about the prettiest target <this> cow ever shot without having a scope attached to the rifle!

Altogether a very fine day at the range !!

...cows.. ...wondering if a scope is really necessary ...

Dang Cow 54 that's some fine shootin' again. You have me convinced you don't need no steekin' scope at all. The Aguila Pistol Match looks to be well liked by T-2. I might have to pick up some of that to try in my Varmit. Don't throw your scope in the trash, you could always send it to me

LOL!! ...now WHAT would you do with a clunky old Mueller 8-32x44 TD ?? ...actually that belongs to Trainer #1 (T1) and now SHE'S getting rather p..p...preturbed with me for not taking HER out to play!

I still need the scope but only if I want to actually SEE anything smaller than the 3" bulls we were shooting at. The iron sights are a total blast to work with, but no good at all for me for the small targets.

(besides, I don't think I have a box BIG enough to stuff the Mueller in to ship it!)

Scopes have their place, but these Brno sights are kinda getting to me.. As long as I can <SEE> the target, I'll hit it!

(BTW, that Pistol Match ammo.. T2 really likes it, the UL thinks it tastes like broccoli...eeewwwww, T1 hasn't tried it at all yet.)

I'm sure I could find something to do with that clunky old Mueller scope I would think it would be real handy for shooting 100 yard games for sure. Can't hit what ya can't see.......
Yep, the ammo game you never know till you try. Stuff I think should shoot good sometimes doesn't, and sometimes junk shoots pretty good. I'll try some Pistol Match to find out. I don't know if the Varmit likes broccoli

Congrats COW 54. I put this one on the list this morning but then did not have a chance to say so and to tell you congrats.

I also added "IRON SIGHTS" to this and your Ultra entry. You deserve it

Thanks Vincent.. thank you very much!!!

And thank you too, Gerald

I'm really having fun with these sights.. actually astonished that I'm not embarrasing myself with 'em. Never thought I could shoot irons at all (terrible eyes), but these things are magical!!

Seems like everyone who uses the Brno sights does quite well with them. When I first tried them with the UL, it was a surprise that I still haven't got over They really feel "right" for me and are a wonderful combination of low-tech (no glass) and high tech (adjusts just like a scope) with the added bonus of no parallax issues to deal with

Each time I shoot with them, it seems to get even better! Woooo!! where have I been all these years??? ..

...cows... ..with Brno sights and LOVIN' it!
