Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of pre-war German sporting 22 rifles.

The most common stock stamping is the Mauser "wheel" as pictured above (earlier models have a slightly different stamp). However, there can be any number of other stock stamps such as those of distributors/large sellers, clubs, or paramilitary organizations (mostly on the DSM 34 and its clones).

Oh, and "Patrone" means nothing more than "cartridge" or "chambering". It's not a model or other rifle specific designation, as so many seem to think.

Hello, thank you for the remarks, I am looking to see how I can post pictures here. The stamp is in front of that one. It’s the letters DSF on top of a triangle

Looks like a brand? Burned in very deep. No idea why.

It appears to be the "deluxe" version of the ES340B. These better grade examples had the grooved fore-end, checkered grip and hard rubber buttplate. The standard version had an entirely smooth stock and a metal buttplate.

The best source for learning about these rifles is the book by Jon Speed - Mauser Smallbores

. . . . or, this forum.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest the extra stamp on your rifle is a distributor's mark. Of course, it's also possible that it's just a former owner's "artistic" addition with his initials.

I agree could definitely be previous owner. I guess I was thinking itís possibly a club is just because how deep it is and how itís over the triangle.
