Scope mount for sidemount

Log in to see fewer ads
i know there have been some guys on here that fabricated them.
i bought a toz 61 with a sidemount scope base and ring that won't
let me use a 40mm scope it hits the barrel. i need one that will let
the scope set up a little higher. the setup i have can't be shimmed or
adjusted anymore than it is. thanks. i don't want to alter this gun as
it is really unique.

yep i'll get a picture up in a little while. sorry to take so long getting back to
you guys. and yes i probably will be looking for someone to make one or sell
me one that would work. thanks for the comeback guys. give me a couple of
hours to get a closeup. i'll check also to see if the sidemount cm2 sight uses
the same size rail.

The Quality Assuance Manager looks it over.

My poor best. A 50-yard, 5 shot group. The top shot was a sighter.

You can build this @ home with a file, hacksaw and an inexpensive drillpress. That's how I did it, now, w/ a machine shop, it would have been not only efective, but quick to make!

that looks good. how much would you charge to make a similar one?
that one looks sturdy and well made.

some pictures of toz61 i bought from jdsmenatwork

a beautiful gun weighs alot, odd scope mount i believe it's a 27 or 28 mm scope
an old russian scope 4 power says cccp on it now that's going back some. i managed to get a 36 1 inch weaver scope in the mount but it barely hits on the
barrel so i took it back off. i would really like to see how it would do with a good
scope on it. it has double set trigger around an ounce i would say. and it has the
odd double lugged bolt.

thanks for any help. that scope mount has a hinge, you loosen 2 screws and it opens
and you put thet scope in it. i used some teflon pipe tape to shim the 1 inch weaver that's 25 mm.
it actually worked well except for barely touching the barrel because of the 40 mm bell.

I measured the front bell of a Weaver 36X, it's 53mm or 2.087 however, a B&L 36X only measures 52.38mm or 2.062, would that work?

Tom, that is one beautiful rifle! Wanna get rid of it?

Um..I see you're in w.va, unfortunately, I would have to have your rifle here to hand-fit it. that is not a CM-2, or a Ural. Each model is a little different.

Also, I do it totally by hand. I mean hacksaw, files, layout. It's uber labor intensive! If you were here in Texas, and I had your rifle to work from, I might be tempted to do it.

If you have a friend that's handy, it can be done in a home shop.

Here's a link to an article on making a scope base for a top-mount CM-2

Kalinka Optics mount

Gmac5,

Which mount from Kalinka Optics did you use? The one you ordered was for the side mount? Do you have the Ural or the CM2?

Thanks and have a great weekend,

Jerel
