Perhaps depending on what you have to pay for a 1710 stock and fitment, If I had something as wonderful as one of those actions, I'd be having Canyon Creek make a custom stock for it.
Many years ago, we had a member here do exactly that, and it was magnificent.

The recoil lug on the "match" actions are inletted into the stock, compared to the Rem 700-style ones sandwiched on the 1710, so a bit more difficult, but it's mostly a matter of accommodating the larger action screws, and their different position in the two rifles. Didn't the 54:18 receivers also have a different rear tang configuration than that on the 1710s? I can't remember all the details .

Affirmative, the tangs are shaped differently. The result is a small gap, say 2mm X 10mm in the rear tang area of the 1710 stock. I filled mine with some black epoxy and it blends reasonably well.

Yes, that's what I thought, and that is one reason someone that insists on perfect wood-to-metal fit (like me) would have a problem with this stock "swap." As I recall, I inletted a small block of closely matching wood into the tang area, and re-inlet the tang into that insert. It wasn't invisible, but I doubt most people could tell, unless they were told the insert was there. I subsequently sold the rifle, so I don't have it available for pics.

I can get a 54.18MSR + McMillan Thumbhole Silhouette stock, (maybe installed and bedded) for the cost of just a new 1710 barrel action.

So.. I might just do that

I was determined to have a great shooter so I used a proven P94S Lilja I had. It is also 1/2 pound lighter than the untested 1712 barrel I was contemplating using. That was the good news.

The bad news is I have a straight barrel in a tapered channel so I don't take pictures that would show that! I did say early on it's a shooter. Fortunately most are not savvy enough to notice glaring imperfections.

For example, Anschutz was shipping tapered barrel 1416 DKLs in straight barrel 1416 HB stocks. How about the stocks that were cut for bolt safeties and shipped with trigger safeties, which applies here also!...Tom

That sounds great. I recommend you do it in any event.
