Bullet trap question?

Log in to see fewer ads
I bought a "Do All" bullet trap last year.
There has to be a better way to hang a target than the hanger & clip they supply!
Any thoughts, ideas or what you have done?
I have it in my shop now, staring at it,trying to think up something???

Thanks for any input.....

Bullet trap question?

There is.
Couple of 2x4ís and a cardboard box in front of the bullet trap.

Staple the box to the boards. The boards serve two purposes.
1- to elevate the box above the trap part of the trap.
2- to serve as an anchor weight for the box.

I use kitty food boxes and just magic tape a new front when the box front gets shot out.

Hi Roscoe:

I have three do all bullet traps that I use quite a bit for bullseye and 4 position shooting and I have never had a issue hanging a target with the clip provided.

If it is a particularly windy day, I will put a couple of clips on the bottom edge of the target to act as weight to keep the target from flapping in the breeze. When it is really blowing, I have clipped a paper plate to the back of the target as well.

What problems are you experiencing that you need to improve on the target hanging clip.

Sorry. I quickly answered you , I was working and had to put may attention back towards my work.

I got tired of bullet fragments wrecking my target paper and the clip/paper coming off so I got a kitty food box that canned cat food comes in and attached it to a pair of 2x4ís to raise the box to where my target paper was centered in the opening so non of my shots hit the trap catch at bottom of trap as to avoid possible ricochet.

This allows the attachment of targets to the box with tape or staple and the use of target paper with multiple targets on the paper for group shooting.
You can replace the paper and cardboard as needed.

When Iím done I leave the trap out side and bring my box in to my shop.
