Definitely The War Wagon. He was fantastic in In Harm's Way; I think that movie would have been mediocre without him.

His real name was Issur Danielovitch Demsky.

RIP Jack Burns.
One of my favorite Kirk Douglas movies is Lonely Are the Brave , check it out.
A 1962 modern Western Drama with a number of stars in the making.

One of the movies I most remember from my youngest years was "The Vikings" with Kirk and Tony Curtis. To my 8 year old eyes he was the coolest guy I'd ever seen! I've always had a soft spot for him since that day. Rest in peace, Mr. cool....you were one of the best!

Of the newer movies I liked Man from Snowy River. Old ones War Wagon and when I was a kid I always liked 20,000 Leagues Below the Sea.

+1 on the 20K Sea/Leagues! I always liked Kirk in whatever I saw him in; wish I could say as much for his son Michael [who is nonetheless married to one of the great beauties of our age... ]

He's one of the greats, and a real man's man. He had a great run too: centenarian+! Way to go! I loved how he said he showed up for the Academy Awards Lifetime Achievement celebration only because his doc said he could have a glass of whiskey if he'd do it... way to put "the Academy" in their place!

I hereby nominate "I AM SPARTACUS!" to be the rallying cry for the Big Boogaloo! Who's with me?!?

Not many have heard of it, let alone have seen it. Kirk said it was his favorite.

It has to be one of the funniest westerns of all time. Douglas was funny and his horse was outrageous.

I suggest that if anyone hasn’t seen it, in memory of Douglas, watch it. I have it on DVD and I think I’ll watch it again this weekend.

That was a good movie, Edward Abbey book adaptation. RIP Mr. Douglas - I hope you enjoy your reward after a long life here on Earth.

I forgot The Man From Snowy River, yes, he was great in that movie too.
