Question Umarex .177 Cal. Ruger Clone

Log in to see fewer ads
Has anyone seen, handled or read any reports on the Umarex .177 Pistol patterned after the Mk. IV
Looks interesting. Rifled bore and adjustable sights.
At $50.00 might make a fun companion piece to our Ruger pistols, no?

I looked at their website and didn't see the clone of the Ruger MKIV. Of course I'm old age challenged.

According to the "New EZ-Clean MKIV" thread below, AzShooter should be receiving his any day now. Looking forward to his report!

They've backed up the delivery date to the end of the year. I still have mine on order though.

Talking umarex clone

Did you order it from Pyramid?
Prepay, or pay when shipped.
For that price seems you can't go wrong.

I ordered from Pyramid. It's pay when shipped, so there is no problem. I can also cancel any time I want.

I've bought a few things from them and they are a good company.

That looks nice although the grips look just as cheesy as what Ruger puts on the real thing. I guess they should be as it's a replica. I may just get in line for one though.

What exactly is this for? A "trainer" for the Mark IV pistol?

What am I missing here?

Cool Missing?

Air pistol looks to be as close a replica of the real Mk. IV as a $50.00 break open, pellet gun can be.
Don't expect a super trigger, and assuming typical "spring recoil" it may be a challenge to extract top accuracy.
That said, I found the Beeman P17 to have a great trigger and superb accuracy. Only downsides are the difficulty of cocking (definately NOT for young shooters) and the fact that folks with large hands may have trouble positioning a pellet in the barrel.
Again , though, cost is around $50.00 and gives me hope for what may be possible in this price range..

The product description in that Pyramid Air ad sure is filled with fancy vernacular, and I especially liked the claims of "...hours of enjoyment..." Wait...while shooting One. Round. At. A. Time.(?) Perhaps a child would find it exciting, but I'd be bored to tears in less than 5 minutes and would find the $50 better spent on .22LR ammunition or a minor upgrade for the real thing, but that's just me...

Talking 1 Shot at a Time

Drew Bone,
"To each his own, said the old lady as she kissed the cow."
Other than a single shot pellet rifle and a s.s. air pistol, all of my guns are either lever, bolt, revolver or semi-auto.
That said, my ol'Man used to say,
"If there were more single shots going into the woods, there'd be more deer coming out."
