Thank you. I just hope they have some lots left of the double secret special formula stuff. It won’t be for a GM shooting rifle, but a good lot generally shoots good in other rifles too.

It was a nice early morning so I shot a GM that ain't worth even posting. An 8 and a 7 on the bottom row ruined it for me. Ended up with a 235 so I'll try one more before the month is done.

Thank you sir. Do you know anything about the new ARA venue in Butler, KY? It’s called Big Chief’s Rimfire Club.

Still posting for RD. If he ever actually checks in here I hope some of you guys will tell him that it is a lot easier to learn how to post pictures here than it is to shoot a 250.

Official Entry
09-16-21
247-7x
RDWalker (Dwayne)
452 American, SK-STD+
Nikon ProStaff 3x9x40 AO
Bags front and rear

I won't mark this as "official" yet but might as well. He'll be hard pressed to better that score. LOL. (Hoping he finally checks in and reads this.)

One point at a time is al it takes Bill. Just work on that one point at a time and you will see more rows like the first one. What ammo are you shooting and how long does it take you to shoot a target? Are you using a magazine or single shot?

Welcome to the group Tim. It looks like you have some pretty good grouping, however, I can't score the target. For this competition, the required target is the USBR 50 yard target. Here is the link to where most of us buy targets from:

http://www.americantargetcompany.com...us_targets.asp

(third row down on the right)

This information is on the bottom of the first post for each month's matches. Just so you are up to speed when you get your targets, a couple of things. You only need to mark the target as "official entry" if it is your best of the month. Hopefully, in the future, you will have more than one target in a month's time that you want to display. Also, when shooting with a scope with variable power, always attest that it was shot a 9X (Mueller [email protected]). A good cardboard backer to afix the target to will give a nice, clean hole which will be easier to score accurately.

Hope all this info helps you out and we all look forward to having you as a regular competitor and forum participant.

Tomcat21 (Ted)
237-7X
CZ 457 At-One, Eley Club
Weaver 6-24x 42mm AO set @9
Bald Eagle front, Protektor rear
75į, wind 5 mph, 40% humidity, sunny

I haven't shot in a Scoped Match since July, finally got a day when heat and humidity finally broke. As you can see I started off pretty decent. I load 2 10 rd. mags and two 5r rd. mags, I use one 5 rd. for sighters, then a ten rd. mag. for rows 1 and 2, than another ten rd. mag. for rows 3 and 4, then a five rd. mag for row 5. I sail through rows 1-2 and I'm doing pretty good, only down -1. I use 5 rds. from the second 10 rd. mag in row three, get a minus 1 so I'm down 2. I start row four and get a 6x, 7x, 8x, -1 and mag is empty, should be 1 round left for bull 5. I go back to the spotting scope, crank it up to 60x take a look and my eyes go to bull #2 and I'm looking at a hole a bit bigger than all the rest, sure enough I put a second round through what should have been 7x, but now becomes -10.
I finished up with all tens in row 5 and a final score 237, 7x. When I got home I measured hole in bull 2 row 4 and it was .257 dia, edge to edge. All the other holes in the GM were a consistent .217 Dia. edge to edge. I couldn't do that again if I tried.
I forgot to bring camera to the range so the photo of rifle on bench is an older one from July, same set up.

Thanks for the information! It would have been a "official entry" as this thing call a job interferes with my fun!! I didn't notice it wasn't the same target, but have been offered the correct ones by PM! (Thank you sir!!) And the cardboard is a great idea!! Maybe I'll get it right next month!! 🤣

Thank you for your understading. I always feel hesitant pointing things iike that out to people because they sometimes get upset and we aren't here to do that. We want everyone to participate and have fun with us. Haybe you will find a work-around the work thing so you can get out more. And kudos to whoever is supplying you with targets. I saw that you were over in Concord and was going to do the same thing. If you are ever up north of Raleigh give me a shout.

Well, dang, Ted. That is heartbreaking. That was going to be the high for the month probably. All I can say is that your integrity is to be commended. But......... the layoff doesn't seem to have had a negative effect on you. Go back and do it again.
