I haven't shot a 22 since I was a kid. But, now my son is old enough to start shooting. So, I bought a 10/22 Takedown for him and I am getting a RPR .22 WMR for myself. I would like to set it up to eventually shoot targets at 200 yards. Any advice you guys and gals might have would be great. Thanks!

Get a box of all varieties of ammo you can and test to see what your gun likes at 100yards. Also get good scope with at least 20 power or you won't like your groups at 200yards let alone hit a gopher. And also a sturdy bipod or rest of somekind. The list goes on and on but above all, practice, practice, practice

I was looking at a Vortex Diamondback Tactical 4x16 44 FFP. I was hoping that would be enough scope. I was also looking at the Vortex Diamondback Tactical 6x24 50 FFP. Thanks!

Just remember that you can always turn down a 24 power to 16 but you can't turn a 16 power up to 24.

I have the Vortex Diamondback Tactical FFP 6-24 x50. It's a good choice.

Great, I ordered one today. Do you have it on a .22? If so, what rings did you get? I'm worried the bell will hit the rail on the RPR WMR I plan on getting.

I have that exact setup but, with a Timney trigger. I've shot several different brands of ammo. I shot the Hornady 30 grain at 200 yards and hit a 4 inch gong 7 times out of 15 shots. I know, that sucks! But with the 22 mag, wind is a BIG factor. I shot this rifle off a bipod and rear bag. I've never shot it off a bench.

I'm not a big fan of the stock as it it kinda loose. Not bad but, mine will move alittle. Also, it is probably me but, I would like the cheek riser to go a little higher and be able to move it left and right as the cheek piece is kinda wide.

As for the scope. I lke it pretty good. It seems to be accurate as far as the cliks go. On the highest power the eye alignment is pretty critical for the proper field of view. But for the price I'd say it's a pretty good scope.
