Capital One breach!
The 'alleged' suspect seems to have issues besides the 100,000,000 security issues she caused. https://www.usatoday.com/story/money...re/1865848001/

If you were born before 2000 chances are your info is already compromised and on the dark web, and has been for years.

Own a gun, fishing or hunting license, credit card, drivers license, indebtedness of any kind? You are out there and available to be taken advantage of. In nowadays society it is impossible to hide. It's a shame but that seems to be the way it is .

One of our previous governors sold the info off our driver's licenses in a useless attempt to help get MI out of the red. Nice eh?

For veterans the VA has lost all our data multiple times https://www.consumeraffairs.com/news...va_laptop.html
I signed up for a credit monitoring service years ago. $10 a month for peace of mind is money well spent in my book.

They also use data from social forums , like this one , to target people.

Not intelligent but highly ticked. I had a Cabelas Visa card for years and it was my most heavily used card. BP switched everyone over to Capitol One Master Card. I have never used the card and have not bought anything from Cabelas since BP bought them. I guess I better go update my Lifelock.

Thanks Al, what a nice thing to say!
I remember as far back as the 90's getting letters from the VA telling me my personal info was part of a data breach and to be on the lookout for suspicious account activity.
It was nice that they warned us but it would have been nicer if they hadn't let contractors play with unsecured service member data offsite to start with. Just part of living in the digital age I guess.
