Thinking of picking up a ultrasonic cleaner at harbor freight.

What type of fluid do you guys recommend as a cleaning agent for firearm parts, barrels, cylinders, etc.

I just use water and vinegar. Leaves the cases clean inside and out.

I use Hornady. They make a cleaner for firearms and one for cases not cheap but they work great.

I bought the Harbor Freight sonic cleaner and it works better than my Hornady. For cleaning gun parts I use a solution of Simple Green and water. To clean brass I use the same mixture and sometimes Hornady's cleaner.

You don't want to use vinegar on blued parts. It will remove blueing pretty fast.
Just saying so folks don't misinterpret GladesGuy's post about shell cases and assume it's ok for everything.

As stated simple green also works fine.

RCBS has TWO different types, one for brass cases, and one for gun/parts. Not used the one for gun parts.
