Why are CZs so high priced?

Just bought Savage model 10 HB threaded in 308 & 6.5 CM 20" & 24" for $329/shipped each. Everything I read & watch say they'll shoot 1/2 MOA out of the box without even doing any magic to them. So why are CZ & other rimfires so expensive? I don't like the new Savage rimfires but I doubt you could do much better on those. I bought several Millet LRS scopes on a close out for $160 down from $500+ & have used one since they came out so should have a couple 1000 yard+ rifle for about $500 each. That's the fum when you shoot a $500 stick & beat a $5000 stick which with optics cost isn't even a high $$ rifle anymore. Looks like I may get to shoot this PM as it will be in the 30s

Set a CZ and a Savage down next to each other, and look at them for 30 seconds. That's why.

I'm not sure where you're buying your CZ's, but mine were quite affordable. In fact, they weren't much more than the Savage's. I bought an Anschutz last year at an incredible discount and it still cost just over twice as much as the CZ I bought. As mentioned above, sit a very cheap Savage and a CZ down side by side and look at the differences. If you can't see them, just buy the one that costs the least. They'll both shoot "good enough" for plinking and casual shooting. Just depends on what you're looking for. I'll make a different statement than yours: Why does the Anschutz cost over twice as much as the CZ? I personally think that's a valid question, more so than comparing a CZ to a Savage.

Since there are plenty of CZ rimfires you can buy for $329 or less I do not see your point. It costs just as much to make a bolt action rifle with a small bore as it does to make one with a big bore.

I think it has to do with the alphabet. The A named guns being more expensive than the Z named guns.

I look forward to seeing your results on the model 10s you bought, out of the box, without doing any magic to them, in the Rifles forum. Which has zero to do with rimfires, CZ or otherwise. You must be bored.
