Hey guys, does anyone use this factory ammo?
My mates savage model 25 loves it, it's 20 grain ballistic tipped stuff.
His rifle shoots around 1/2 moa with it.
It's the Varmint X stuff, expensive but accurate!
Explosive on rabbits and foxes too!

I haven't shot the Winchester ammo only two 50 round boxes of the Hornady 20 grain in two different lot numbers. One of the lots shot a 5/16 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards. These were the first 100 shots thru the rifle, my reloads (mostly on reformed 22 hornet brass) haven't equaled it. It's my understanding that Hornady loads there ammo as well as the 17 Hornet for Federal and Winchester.

img] I've mentioned this rifle in a few post. A CZ Varmint in 17 Hornet. The bolts been ground to allow clearance, the trigger has been adjusted to a single stage with a replacement spring, and a Redfield 6-18X scope mounted in Warne medium rings. I haven't touched the bedding. I didn't fix it because it didn't need it. Ratpacker the bottom photo of the target is the back of the middle photo target. The writing on the back of the target states "8-17-13 5 shots 100 YDS Factory 20 grain >3/16" (inch) ". The coin is an American dime about 1/2 inch in diameter. Five 17 Hornet reloads are shown on the opposite side. Hornady 17 Hornet ammos not bad stuff at least in my opinion.
