H&R M12 Eley SK Match
International rear, Olympic Front
Jim Beecher rest Protector bags

Heat wave in the U.P. Temp 33 degrees and wind light at 5mph.
Overcast with fast fading light.

Had a late start today do to stuff needing to be done before tomorrow’s second round of shoulder surgery. Made the best of it as these two targets will likely finish out 2019 for me.

First target: 50, 50-3, 50-4, 49-3X, 199-10X
Second: 50-2, 50-3, 50-2, 50-3X, 200-10X

Will return 2020 after the brace is off.

Hoping your surgery goes well Lon. Good scores in what we in Tucson would call horrible conditions.

Not bad scores for those conditions. Pretty good in fact. I've never done very well with a frozen trigger finger.....

Hope your procedure goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

About as warm as we will see up here for a long while.
We have been lucky so far with just a few light snows. Other areas near Superior have had 40” already.
Have a much better feeling that the second surgeon was very capable and than first surgery. Have not been able to work since June as soon never recovered from the first. Bicep tear with ten other tears that were just cleaned up.
Yesterday’s surgery was totally endoscopic with four reattachments using biological parts instead of screws. The pictures looked much cleaner second time around.
Thank you for the kind words!
Lon

Well deer season has come and gone for me this year.

My ideal is to do a summary each month of each shooters scores. Take the highest score that shooter posted that month and list it.

Any other suggestions you would like to see?

After two days in a row of 40 degree temps couldn’t resist getting out and enjoying the weather. We’ve had sub zero temps and 50” plus of snow for the month of December. Temperature 41, winds 3-7mph, fast fading light. Beecher rest, Protektor bags
Rifle one: Mossberg L43 Lyman 57rear Lyman globe front, SK Plus ammo
49-1, 50-1, 49-2, 50-3x= 198-7X

Rifle two;
H&R M12 International rear with SureX disk, Olympic front, SK Plus ammo
50-2, 50-5, 50-4, 50-3x= 200-14x

Will have to play with sight picture on the Mossberg as well as ammo, not bad for an 82 year old rifle.

Nice shooting! I like that broad pad on the front rest. Works okay for narrower sporter stocks?

Not the best with this particular rifle as the sling makes it unstable, not to mention it was digging into bag. With the 8# Mossberg having more recoil than the M12 I’m sure having a sling in place effected grouping.

I somehow was posting on 2018 ? Trying to correct it.

195-7x @ Sebastian, Florida. December 16, 2019
CZ Lux
Factory open sights
Harris Bi-Pod & Protextor rear bag
Eley bulk from CMP
A23/5 targets
Mostly cloudy and 12-15 mph wind.
49-2x, 48-1x, 48-2x & 50-2x = 195-7x
My old eyes simply can not bring the rear sight into focus, so all of this is a fuzzy shooting exercise. Still fun. I bet if we had not overhead cover and bright sun light, the sights would not be quite so fuzzy. I might shoot sporting clays tomorrow, but today is last day of this until after Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone.

199-13x @ Sebastian, Florida. December 16, 2019
Savage/Anschutz Model 64
Redfield Olympic sights
Harris Bi-Pod & Protextor rear bag
Wolf Match Extra ammo
A23/5 targets
Sunny and 12-15 mph wind.
50-4x, 49-2x, 50-4x & 50-3x = 199-13x
This is almost a duplicate of a target I shot in October. Moving from Bull #1 to Bull #2 the first shot was way outside. I think maybe there is some different strain on the bi-pod contributing to this. Frustrating.
==================
December 2, 2019 @ Indian River County Range, Sebastian, Florida
Score: 194 & a few "x"s. But see below, this is a best guess score.
Indian River County Range, Florida
Remington 521T with factory Lyman peep sights.
Wolf Match Extra
Protextor Rear Bag & Cabelas Front Rest.
72 degrees and very windy, 12-20 mph.
I had just got this rifle and was sighting it in. I had a lot of trouble doing so. By the time I finished, the best I could do was to count the score on the final bull, 10 shots, and extrapolate as to what 20 shots would have scored. The trigger on this is about as hard a pull as any I have ever owned. But the rifle is very nice and I like it. Made in 1957 and clean as can be.

November 7, 2019 at Sebastian, Florida
Savage/Anschutz Model 64
Redfield Olympic sights
Harris Bi-Pod & Protextor rear bag
Wolf Match Extra ammo
Sunny, light wind. 85 degrees.
White Center A23/5 targets, 50-5x, 50-4x, 50-4x & 50-5x = 200-18x
Black Center A23/5 targets, 50-3x, 50-3x, 50-5x & 50-5x = 200-16x

200-16X @ Indian River County Shooting Range, Sebastian, Florida 12/23/2019

Winchester 52D, Redfield International MK 8 sights
CMP Eley Bulk Ammunition.
Cowan Front Rest, Protekter Bags Front & Rear
Mostly Cloudy, Winds 12-15 MPH

50-4X, 50-4X, 50-4X,50-4X = 200-16X

Had a flyer on the last target, used a .22 plug and it was just touching the 10 Ring. Verified by David Valdina.

Like David said have old eyes and hard to see the bullseye and get things centered. good thing I have an eye appointment scheduled for 12/26.

Why are we still posting in the Sept.2019 postings?

AJ, after Art gave up the score keeping and results posting, no one has taken on the job of keeping things up to date.

Hank,

Sorry to hear that. Will be very sorry to see this lapse, it has been going on for years. I remember when Owen took it over from the gentleman that started it. But I guess all thing will end someday. I don't think the interest is there any more like it once was.

Please see post 80. I asked, no one responded. I take it that no one cares, why go to the trouble to do the score keeping.

Please see post 70. I am still willing if anymore than 2 or 3 shooters care.
