Cool " Flexibility "....

okay, all,

asked this elsewhere, but got buried, lol, which is normal, SO......

am thinking of trying out a Hogue OM stock, and would like some honest
feedback as to how it shoots accurately off the bench @ 25/50 yds,
with the stock being the major factor, using whatever ammo you have,

i dont plan on bedding and i dont hunt, so weight is not an issue, but
have heard that the fore arms are a bit flexible, and i wont be using
a bi-pod,

would like to get some honest answers of what or how you all here would
"RATE" this stock, accuracy-wise. i know there are a lot of those stocks here,
mostly hunting guns i would imagine,

thanks all, comments are always welcome,

Rico....

I have one on my hunting rifle. From bags on a bench it was shooting about 1/2" or so at 50 yards the other day, and I've hit several partridge in the last week in the neck with it at 40+ yards. This was from various positions (kneeling, sitting, rested against a tree, and off the hood of the truck).

For the $65 or so, it's a winner in my book.

I'd go with it! If it is too flexable it is a simple job to dremel a few notches in the bulkheads and epoxy in metal rods to stiffen it.

It works good for a target stock but it's definately a hunting stock I use them and I added a piece of weatherstrip for a pressure pad on the tip of the stock, got good groups

Hogue OM Stock

Rico, I have A hogue on a KID everything(bolt, barrel, trigger, pins buffer, ). It shoots under .400 at fifty yds with Federal Automatch. With CCI greentag it opens up to about .750. In a bedded Walnut Stock The greentag shoots into under .350 and the Auto Match opens up to about .650.

My conculsion is that the High velocity likes the Hogue free floated barrel channel, but the target grade needs tip pressure . I belive that the OM stock is quite good and everything is very tight. I had to thin down all my mags to get them to drop free when released.

My Walnut stock is a SK thumbhole and is very nice and i would use it with any target grade ammo. I haven't tried any type of forearm tip pressure on the Hogue, but have thought about some type of bughole tunner to try to get it to shoot both HV and SV ammo.

I hope this info helps. By the way I haven't noticed any problems with flexing if you don t put any extra pressure on the forearm.

Do you have any pictures of this? Sounds interesting to me...
