I have been unable to find reference to it in Vic's book and there is no mention in any of Moss. catalogs or ads, that I have seen.

I did find this reference in The Book:
page 120, 2nd paragraph, after the untimely passing of Iver in 1945, referring to Alan and his apprenticeship in the factory:
"....Alan started out as a machine operator and eventually learned to operate all of the machines in the plant.
He straightened barrels - by hand and eye - and learned the process of lead-lapping the barrels. It was invaluable
preparation for leading the family business."
There may be more information about lead-lapping in The Book, I gotta re-read it before I say anything more.
