Boyd's Pepper stock color question

For those of you with a Boyd's Pepper laminated stock, i have a question. The pics on the web vary quite a bit, so I'd like you opinion.

Thinking of ordering a Pro Varmint for a FV-SR. While it's on order, I'm sending the barrel/action out for some Cerakote work and wondering which colors would match the lighter colors of the Pepper laminate.

Flat Dark Earth? Desert Sand?

You thoughts....

Here's the link to Cerakote colors

This is a pepper laminate with barrel done in titanium cerakote - Doesn't match up too bad.

You nailed it with that Beauty!!!!!

I'm thinking of leaving the flutes on the barrel black.

Did you do any of the bolt or handle in titanium?

Question on the Boyd's stock. The factory stock has a molded in trigger guard, so I'll need extra screws for the new trigger guard. The screw in front of the guard is machine threaded, will that still line up with the bushing on the receiver? For, the new screw behind the guard, is that wood screw for the stock? Or, machined for the bushing at the very rear of the receiver?

Thank you!!!

The Mark II action in my Boyds stock is from a GY model. I used these for a great fit:

What are you guys using for scope rings? I'm wondering what the height should be for my 30MM scope. The lowest ones I've found are Vortex Hunter Rings at .79".

Hey HJ,
Boyd's Pepper stock is on its way. I'm looking at Cerakote colors and see that the Titanium description says it has fine metallic. Does yours show any metallic?

If it's there, it sure is fine. Maybe I can't see it because I'm partially colour blind so guess I'm not much help here

That is a really nice looking stock. I have a Ruger Mini 30 that I am thinking of getting a Boyd's pepper stock for.

Blizzard of '17 has delayed "Big Brown"
So, the Pepper Stock should be here tomorrow.
Then off for the Cerakote treatment

Can't wait to put it together, shoot it and post pics here!
