What was the price on this Volquartsen comp? I was gifted it from my FFL and want to repay him in some way.

Also is/was there a fiber optic blade available? What was the manufacturer?

Havenít shot it with it installed but I can tell it does add a bit of weight to the front of the barrel.

Thanks for any info.

My recollection from 30 years ago was that it was $35 or so and was made by Volquartzen. I bought one to increase my sight radius and provided a shaper front sight than the poor Ruger front blade. I do not recommend them.

They accumulate crud and twice snapped the bolt that held them to my barrel, requiring me to leave the barrel with a machinist to remove the body of the bolt.

I picked one up off Ebay from Volquartsen on a close out sale a few years ago for around $35 and early last year they closed out the fiber optic version for $50 so I grabbed two of those. The f/o version is much easier to see and none of them have given me any trouble so far, other than one coming loose when I forgot to use Loctite.

I wish you luck, hope they can set you up. Failing that, I have had great results using florescent nail polish from Dollar Tree. The picture isn't very good, can't seem to get the color right, and my paint job isn't as messy as it appears. But you get the idea.
