164 sporter?

Log in to see fewer ads
Hi, I just had the local gun store call up and said they have a 164 sporter that just came in. I haven't even looked these up yet and thought I would ask here first. Going down to look in a couple of hours. They said it was like new. Is this worth $350? Are these accurate, ect.? I am going to GB now to check prices!
Thanks
Ed

If it's a Savage Anschutz 164 in like new condition, run down there and snap it up for that price.

It will have the Anschutz 64 action - the 164 is very similar in accuracy to the current Weatherby XXII sporters that sell for more than $750.

I have seen ones that were in about 85% condition sell for over $600, so yes that would be a great price, and they are extremely accurate.

average ones are selling for 4-500 on GB I've been watching for awhile as I want one for upcoming squirrel season. Some start out at around 600 don't usually get a bid.350 would be an excellent buy. Hurry before they change their mind.

Hey thanks for the replies!
I did run down after posting! Do NOT tell my wife! Just yesterday I picked up a Brno Model 3 so this was a bit soon! and of course I bought it. I have this addiction problem. Is that the first step in a cure?! Very nice wood, had a Weaver 2.5 scope, 2 magazines. I thought it just said Anschutz 164, not Savage Anschutz. I am going to have to be careful checking it because it is in the truck!! (Wife!!) Is there a difference in value between the Anschutz/Savage Anschutz! I'll get pictures posted soon!

Oops-I see it is a Savage-Anschutz.

Temporary fix!! Isn't that the truth! I have a Ford Ranger and I have to admit it is hard fitting a dozen guns behind the seat!

Here are some pictures-it might not be new but the gun is close!
I even got a leopard skin gun case with it!

Hi!
$350+tax. But I am starting to feel a little funny posting good deals! I don't always get them. I just happened to have 2 in a row-the other was a 69A on the Winchester Forum. I just get excited and like to post about it! For those 2 good deals I have bought a lot of guns that weren't as good if you know what I mean!

This gun has beautiful wood! That is what put me into a buy it mood! Now I am close to broke!
