Question about the takedown case

What's the chance the takedown case could hold a halved AR-15 and a couple magazines? Are there two compartments inside to keep the halves of the TD from bonking into each other?

On one half of the bag there is one big compartment with a velcro flap closure, and on the other half that same space is divided into two long compartments… both halves are about 22" long. Not sure how big the halves are of your AR but as long as they are not too tall or longer than about 20" or so, it should work. Hope this helps.

Just measured an upper, solid 25" with a flash hider on it, pinned and welded 14.5 would drop that to about 23.5", sounds like I may need something a little bigger.

Yeah I just remeasured the bag to make sure and the max length of the interior pockets is 20.5" and the OUTSIDE of the bag edge to edge is 22". Guess it won't work

Doesn't work perfectly. But if your ok with about 1-2 inches of upper sticking out, then it works fine

25in with the flash hider is going to make that a fairly good sized pack the roll and go would fit but not the ruger td bag or the hazard or the jr bag

Would it be possible to show some pictures of the inside of this bag, with or without a rifle in it?
I have 10/22 take down, and have been struggling to find a compact enough scope to fit comfortably in the bag (for the low price I'm willing to pay fora scope, that is).

Plenty of room. I haven't tried optimizing it yet. I need some more straps for the molle loops, plus there's a largee second ccompartment as well as a zipper pocket. Shoulder straps make it more discreet. Choice of multicam or black. With he multicam stock and camo wrap on the scope and barrel, it's hard to see the rifle!

I really bought the case for my M-4. With the Bugbuster scope, the 10/22 will just barely fit the factory case. If I put my Nikon scope on the 10/22, I need the longer case.

More pictures from a different supplier.

Just an update, I ordered Midway's discreet 22" case. Nope. Gonna try the 29" one next. The 22 is just a hair short, might actually work for a rifle like the TD, but I couldn't cram a 14.5" AR in there without all sorts of bulges and junk.

I went with a discreet style of an carry case that did not really look like it contained a weapon as I prefer most of my gun cases not to scream "Weapons inside!" to everyone such as some first class idiot. It works well and will easily carry 2 magazines and a third one can be carried in your lower. I really do like the other cases presented in the thread here and think they are way cooler looking than the case I have but I not do desire to draw unnecessary attention to myself when carrying weapons to and from my vehicle as I am headed off to the range. Why advertise to a bad guy you have what he wants?

ThaDoubleJ,

I looked at the pictures of the Midway 22" discreet carry case. I like it because it offered a variety of colors but it appears not to have any padding along the narrow edges of the case. If you decide you need a 29" case instead you may want to go with the Bulldog 29" discreet case instead since it does have a thick layer of padding along the narrow edges.
