It's cold when dozens of cab drivers have to be treated for frostbite of the middle finger. . . . . .

It’s so cold that...
My five alarm Chili made yesterday froze while setting in the pressure cooker on the deck! Of course it was just -12 when I checked at ten am.

All my Texas friends keep sending me pictures of snow.... I'm Alaskan, don't need pics of your snow covered cactus... We joke the Midwesterners move to Alaska for the nice weather and short winters....

15 today.... heatwave, might not need the big down jacket.

I had to heat the battery in wife’s Mercedes before the battery would begin charging this morning. Heat gun required to bring battery up to 28 for initial charge to begin. This is about the biggest car battery made, hidden under rear seat and well insulated.

I used to have a small ranch in WY. I bred cows to calve in late May - early June. Never had those problems and my calves were 100 lbs heavier in Oct than the neighbors who calved in Feb/Mar. Cows actually have milk when there's green grass to graze on. Deer fawn in mid-May and antelope in June. Why would you want your cows to in calve in the snow?
