ranges?

Where do you guys go shooting?

I'm thinking about starting an outdoor range in Randolph county next year, the next closest range that I know about is over an hour away.

raleigh also.

as for shooting, i belong to Durham County Wildlife Club.

i also go to Caswell Ranch for their monthly Ruger Rimfire Challenge matches (1st Saturday of the month). it's about 1.5 hours from you. the matches usually take 3-5 hours depending upon the shooters and how evil Dean is with his set up.

to play, you'll need $15, at a minimum a pistol or rifle with 2 mags (preferably 5) or a recommended 1 pistol and 1 rifle (the rifle stages with just a pistol suck).

You will also might want to have something to carry your stuff as you move from firing pit to firing pit and manhandling a pistol case, rifle case and your ammo can be a bit of a chore. I use a converted jogging stroller (total investment: $50 vs a $300+ shooting cart) to move between stages.

I'll be there (and so might my wife) on 12/4. get there about 45- 60 minutes ahead of time to register and meet the folks with whom you will be shooting.

In Cary.

I often go to PDHSC. I also go to the Wake County range, which is very nice. Their classes are always crowded.

I also frequent the old home place down in SC; rifles usually come along. No range fees

I'm in Mount Airy, Near Winston-Salem. I shoot on family land. I've shot at a range in Sanford (hard to find). Sometimes I go up to Potts Slope in New Castle, VA.
