Ejector Release Lever

I installed a new ejector in the breech block and it doesn't release. My three options and 1' stone the ejector 2, stone the release lever since I can't make the release tab any taller or 3, mill the frame so the breech block can go lower. With the breech block bottomed out if I push the lever down a few thousandths it releases. Any one would work but I want to do it the proper way. Wayne

Which Martini? International or BSA Francotte pattern?

Sound like International, BSA doesn't have an ejector and it isn't in the breech block.

Those old Martinis had all the parts hand fit by some pretty good smiths back in the day.
Put some Dykem Blue on it to see where its hanging up.
I would guess along the top edge that indexes to the barrel.
Some stoning on the ejector may be needed. Go slow...

I tried switching ejectors in another trigger group and the problem followed the new ejector. You're right, it is an international. Wayne

I have no idea if you have multiple ejectors to do a side-by-side comparison of each, but that would be one way.
I have several ejectors (much harder to come by than a few years ago) and there are some visual anomalies. I cannot verify if differing Marks (Mk II thru Mk V) have a slightly different ejector or not. Its just that even the untrained eye can see differences and I know of no real study that includes those minuscule measurements.
