Woodsman vintage holsters

Anybody have a favorite holster for the Woodsman? I have a few I picked up over the years. I like the flap holsters especially for the extra protection since the value of the guns are increasing. The prewoodsman has a Heiser and a Lawrence on the second series.

Flaps are good but I have an old bianchi that fits my 4.5 in 1952 MT that I would carry often when I hunted. Looks like I’m buying some property that I will be able to wander around on and cut trails for a 4x4 so I’ll get to carry it again. Now gotta find it for a photo.

I have a Heiser marked 935 just like the second one but itīs marked for the HD Military.I think it would also fit a Colt 6 inch Match target as well.

I enjoy vintage stuff built to last. Can still find nice holsters and such in thejunk boxes at gun shops or shows. Hope I can get to some gun shows soon. No telling what you can find in those junk boxes for 10 or 20 bucks

I picked up a period Woodsman holster on eBay. It just adds more to the vintage firearm vs using a new holster. My safe queen will never see the inside of a holster. One wear spot and I'm down 2-300 bucks. My shooter Woodsman(s) gets carried in a holster. Any additional wear adds character.

I donít use any old holsters for my quality blued firearms. I buy holsters with a suede lining so they arenít as harsh on the bluing.

The Woodsman was purchased from its original owner who bought it new in summer of 1928.

Original holster he purchased for it was a Brill, obtained in person from the Brill shop in Austin Texas. The holster was left in Mexico at their ranch and got away from him, so he later ordered out this Heiser which remains with the pistol to this day.

Pistol was always kept well coated in RIG and stowed away in this Boyt fleece lined zippered case.

Thanks for sharing! Some beautiful old leather pieces and they truly enhance the Woodsman pistols! To keep those old holsters looking good, experts recommend just a small amount of Neatsfoot Oil rubbed in with a soft cloth. Just a little is good.

Woodsman holsters

For my first series sport models, I use a Sam Meyers with liner.

For my first series target models, I use a basket weave Eubanks

I too love vintage leather for my guns. I am a fan of the Eubanks holsters which I feel are every bit as good of quality as a Lawrence from the same era. Here are a couple.
