Talking Show your rifle, scope and ring mount set up.

Log in to see fewer ads
Hey guys I want to set up photo sticky of your rifle, scope and ring mount set up because of a few things:

#1 the list of CZ rifles and which rings fit which scopes is good but a picture would be a lot better.

#2 with all the new scopes coming out with larger Ocular the old list is really not up to date.

#3 I want to help the new guys just starting out with their rifle and scope set ups

#4 I own a few different brands of rifles and I would like for people who never owned a Marlin or a CZ to be able to see what really works and how it looks on a certain rifle.

So I am not limiting this to just rimfire or one brand of rifle or scope. Centerfire would be nice.

So I am asking some of the seasoned vets and some newbies like:
GMD1950. Bandit1250, Moedum1, JMK, Slappy22, SavagePlinker, Wonderdog1, Hickorynut, Savage99fan, Timberbeast, Pump22, SDBigDFog1955, Buckweet, Hobbiest, Flash_80, DBR65, DInghram, Flangster and my best friend Jeff Miller.

and the rest of you who want to help me get this done. I could use your help.

Any brand or combination is welcome here. Please include all information you can think of that would help other members here with their scope buying and mounting problems. Be as detail as possible...make, model, magnification, ring size and height.

Side note: We could use some help from the Leupold guys with the new Freedom 3-9x scopes which ones will fit behind a Tangent sighted CZ rifle ??

I am starting this with some of my CZ rifles and will add other brands as time allows:

This is my CZ 452 Varmint in 22mag with a V-16 and Weaver Grand Slam rings #49219 A/O adjust below 30 FEET.

Next up is my CZ 452 FS in 17hmr with a Grand Slam 4-16x scope and Burris 420076 rings. The scope is only 11.5" long which can fit behind most CZ rifles with Tangent sights. A/O adjust to 25 Yards.

CZ 455 with a V-24 and Burris 420554 medium rings. A/O down below 50 FEET

CZ 527 Royal in 223 with GS 5-20x 50mm with Burris 420140 rings A/O down to 25 yards.

All my scopes are Weavers in these pictures and all have 1" tubes. I don't have any bolt clearance problems with any of them.

I hope you guys find this helpful and thanks for your help on this

Anschutz 1416 HB Leupold 11mm High clamp on rimfire Rings, V16

All of my rimfires that have a dovetail I use the Leupold rings that clamp on the dovetail. I have a Marlin that has a cheaper pair of clamp on rings don't remember the brand.

I have a Hawke IR Mil-dot 2-7 magnification scope, mounted on a Weaver rail, on my Marlin 39AS Original Golden.

It will focus down to single-digit distances; but Iíve only shot it at 50 metres or less owing to limitations at my local club.

They are calling for 4+" of rain here today...all day long, so I really don't have much better to do. So, here are a few of my gun/scope combos......not necessarily CZ. One thing I will say, I have never felt it necessary to spend a ton of money on rings. After purchasing the 1710 DKL some years back, I decided to mount a scope using some cheap (about $8) Weaver rimfire/airgun tipoff rings. They worked so well that they are still on there. I picked up several more sets before Walmart discontinued them. One thing I do though is this; before mounting a scope in any rings, I use a 1" steel bar coated with some fine valve grinding compound to lap the rings in once mounted on the gun. I then cut thin strips of typing paper of the right length and width to place between the ring and scope tube. I've never had a scope shift or move nor is scratching up a scope an issue. I guess I'm stingy when it comes to rings, but they work well, look fine, and that gun and scope combo has won it's fair share of matches.

1710 DKL/Weaver tip off rings/Leupold 6.5X20

I'm not afraid to use those same rings on fairly nice guns. Below is a Cooper JSR (top) with those same rings and a Leupold 6X18 mounted. Below it is a 1712 with same rings and a Leupold 6.5X20. Rings are low if I recall correctly. I like my scopes mounted as low as possible.

Same rings on CZ 452 Lux WMR with Clearidge scope.

On this CZ 452 FS, I use some tip off lever mounted rings (low)....the name escapes me at the moment. But I like the option to quickly detach to use the excellent iron sights.

An Anschutz 1420 with Millet low tip off rings:

And so on......as I said, I don't spend a lot of rings for my sporters...all they need to do is look good and firmly attach the scope to the gun. Don't much care for rails to clutter up things or add unnecessary extras. If the gun has tip off grooves I use them. If tapped for a scope, I will use them. I like the old style Redfield/Leupold twist out mounts for my centerfire guns and also a few rimfires like my Remington 40XB. I tend to use whatever I have on hand. But my favorite rifle scope combo is below....though it's not really what the OP had in mind.

The one rimfire gun I would keep if I could only have one - the bottom gun is a 52E with Unertl target scope - old school stuff, and yes, it will shoot:

Well I am trying to scope up a Browning T bolt and they do not have a dovetail. So I need base and rings and the only ones I like are the Talley at 38.00 for bases and 50.00 for the rings. So I went with the talley lightweight ring/base combo for 45.00 shipped. I will try and post a pick when I get it mounted up. I have used these on Big Game Rifles and I have been happy with them.

https://www.talleymanufacturing.com/product/t-bolt/

I got it on there and I like it. I do like the look and the ones I had a Big Rifle I never had a problem with.

I'll post a couple of mine just to show that some folks like a nice, high scope for comfort in shooting (which for me translates to accuracy, as does keeping my face contact to a little as possible). This is a 452 A .22LR with an 8-32x44 Mueller in Burris Sig. Zee X-High rings on a DIP 20 MoA base.

Here is my favorite hunting rimfire -- another 452 A but in 17 HMR. All else the same except the scope is a Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-12.5x42, also a 30mm tube.

Even for BR I want it nice and high. This is an 8-32x56 NXS on a Cooper .22LR with a heavy barrel. Rings are Burris XTR Sig's.

A high scope takes some getting used to but once used to it you probably won't go back.
