How to contest unwarranted negative feedback?

I received negative feedback from a seller out of the blue recently.

All it says is, "gives negative feedback".

It is obviously a retaliatory post.

We did a deal three years ago; at the time, I left what I felt was legitimate negative feedback, he responded with retaliatory negative feedback back then. Now three years later, he left another one, related to nothing (I haven't "spoken" to him or dealt with him in any way in over three years). When I sent him a PM about it, he sent back "you left me a negative, check it out".

I sent an admin a note about it, but have received nothing back. What is the proper way to handle something like this, and have it removed from my feedback profile?

I find it best to not leave any feedback to keep you from getting that negative feedback in return. If it was not a good deal, just leave it alone and your feedback will still be solid.

Well....
There lies the problem. If a buyer or seller is bad to deal with, then I want to know about it
Shame that we are so protective of our precious feedback that we are afraid to point out the bad guys

+1 What's the point of having feedback if we can only see the positives? If you have to leave someone negative feedback and they do the same to you if you did nothing wrong I assume the administrator's will fix it for you, as it seems they gave done here.
