Nice

If they were mine, I would enjoy them all by shooting them. No trailer behind the coffin wagon!

Even though you prefer not to use it, how do you fire yours with one? I'm thinking of finally mounting a scope on my Hunter after all these years of irons only, but wasn't sure if I'd need a rest or anything to pull it off.

I just realized that I have not posted my Single Six here in the picture thread.

My apologies.
Here it is.

Bought new at a gun show spring of 2016. It was a birthday gift from my wife.

My flock
Hunter Convertible 22lr/WMR
17HMRs in SS and Blue, 1 each
Single Ten Lipseys
others are all 22lr/WMR, only one is an old 3 screw I bought without the mag cylinder, picked one up on Ebay for $40 works perfectly

I will probably thin these out soon as I never shoot them, the Single Ten will be the first to go as I don't like it. Keeping the Hunter and a 17 and one SS and one Blue convertibles.

Just got one.

Traded a original Ruger SP101 in .22LR for my Old Model Single Six. Didn't know it at the time but I scored big time. Mine was made in 1960, has the XR3 frame with a 4 and 5/8 inch barrel and accurate to boot.

1976 Single Six Convertible 6.5" "Liberty Edition". The big boy on top is a 1976 Liberty Edition Blackhawk (also 6.5"), it really bums me out they never made a bearcat in 1976 since I'd like to match the old Ruger SA ad I have next to them, but I'm thinking a shopkeeper will fill that space nicely!

Bearcat

As far as I know Ruger introduced the Bearcat in 1958. Did they just not make or sell new ones in 1976?

The bearcat was discontinued when they introduced the transfer bar safety feature because it could not, at the time, be easily adapted to the current design. Thus the bearcat existed from 1958-74 then didn't make a come back until 1992 when Ruger adapted the design for the transfer bar.

Edit-that ad I have up makes me want to cry, it's from 1958; it says $96 for a Blackhawk, $49 for a bearcat, and $63 for a Single Six.

Ah, ok. I stand corrected.
I remember back as a kid growing up riding the trails in the mountains on our motorcycles, one of the older guys sold my brother a Ruger Bearcat for $45. and I always liked to shoot that one.

For those who get Dillon's Blue Press catalog/magazine, my article on the Single Six appeared in the August, 2016 issue.
