The legendary bassist for ZZ Top dead at 72.

Southern Rock is my favorite music style, and ZZ Top has always been one of the class acts. You will be missed Dusty! Thanks for all the great music.

I can’t think of one “Z Z Top” song that I didn’t enjoy.
Excuse me while I run out to my car and put on my cheap sunglasses. Oh Yeah!

I've been listening to ZZ Top music lately so when this showed up on the news it was very saddening.

It is sad, RIP Dusty. We have lost a bunch of musical talent over the years, the music will go on forever, a form of immortality if you will.

I remember getting to meet Mr. Hill coming out of a Lewis & Coker grocery store on Memorial Drive in Houston back in 1984 or 1985 when I was 19 or 20.

His custom two seater Cadillac* was parked at the curb by the front door, and out he came from L&C with a bottle of wine or champagne. One of my two friends that were with me got his autograph.

Dusty is the only famous person I've ever met. Clearly, I'll never forget the experience.

*In a creme or tan paint job and the badging was a replica of the RR used by Rolls Royce, but with DH instead of RR.

The DJ on the radio here yesterday called it "The end of an era".

Apparently ZZ Top held the record for the band staying together the longest with all of the original members.

I saw them in concert a couple of times back in the early 80's. They were ROCKING. Man, that seems like a long time ago. Forty years ago... they were still together and still making music.....

ZZ Top was the headliner of the first concert I went to. Always remained a big fan.
