100G for 100 bucks

Decided to go to the gun show this weekend. Hadn't gone in a while because prices were getting silly.

So I come across a 100G, and having a somewhat obsessive desire to buy another Marlin I stop and take a look.

Nice stock, good bluing, but can't see light through the barrel. So I figure for a hundred, at worst I've got some parts.

Get it home and put a fiberglass rod down the barrel and it just stops. Give it a few taps and a 22 short projectile falls out. Ran a bore snake through and then a fiber-optic bore light and it looks good. Suspect someone had a squib load.

Also picked up 3 scopes for $15 so I threw one on and took it to the range.

That first round had me little nervous, but I was the only one on the range so I took the shot. It worked perfectly.

So I put a target board at 25yds and tried to dial the scope in.
The bottom left were initial hits while aiming at the center of the cardboard.
Bottom right was getting it dialed in.
Upper left 3 shot group
Upper right 5 shot group.

Gotta love a $105 rifle.

What a deal. How I envy you. What scopes did you get for $15?

I bought a rusty a few years ago from a pawn shop in Florida, paid $100 and another $50 to ship, so you scored well.
Mine looked really rough but cleaned up pretty well, and shoots very well.
I did replace the main spring and treated it to a new firing pin, I was getting misfires.
Here a couple before and after pics.
Before:

After:

This was all done on the cheap with sandpaper, old darkened oil finish and touch up blue after a good scrubbing with 0000 steel wool.

BIG45 pads are light years ahead of steel wool in terms of cleaning up blued metal! Most on this forum swear by them.

Obviously the gun on the middle hooks.
Henry classic above
Soon to be a two tone stock Marlin 60 below. Just need to refinish the trigger guard

Tasco RF4x15 (your basic scope)
Tasco 3-7x20
Daisy 4x15

They were laying in a box of Vietnam era canteens and as soon as I stopped to look at them the guy said $5 each, so I kinda had to buy them all.

I wanted the Daisy for my Daisy Model 8.
Put the 3-7x20 in the 100G.

You wouldn't be getting groups like that from a Ruger!
