If you compare 10-Anschutz & 10-CZs, the Anschutz rifles will come out on top accuracy wise.

A good Win 52 will hang with the best of them
Not every time. I have an Annie that a few of my CZs outshoot. Ever see that Bond film....is it Never say never?

You've built a decent position rifle at a reasonably affordable price. Whether or not it's actually an Anschutz (or anything else) is yet to be seen. One thing I'll say...have you tried an Anschutz trigger? I'm not knocking the CZ triggers but even at 1# I highly doubt it's anywhere close to what's on the current Anschutz models.

Regardless of whether or not your rifle's actually better than some higher end target rifles. I have no doubt you'll have a lot of fun and do well with it
A good trigger is great for sure. But, I have seen guys with better triggers lose. Fact. Too many other variables.

I like projects like this

I have a 455 that is so disgustingly accurate, I don't want to shoot it too much as I feel guilty for neglecting my Annie.

I too have thought about putting peeps on mine, as I have a spare Walther aperture target rifle rear sight, the issue with the 455 American is it has no front sight and without a decent gunsmith for 100's of miles i may have to come up with my own version.

kind of tempted to try peeping my 10/22 as I like irons!

Nice work.

I’m looking forward to seeing it’s precision.

Then I might bin my Anschutz.

Of course it's not every time. That's why cznut said "If you compare 10-Anschutz & 10-CZs, the Anschutz rifles will come out on top accuracy wise." In other words, most of the time, most Anschutz rifles will outshoot most CZ's.

Regarding the movie, it's Sean Connery's last Bond film, 1983's Never Say Never Again. After You Only Live Twice in 1967, Connery bowed out of the series, only to return in 1971 in Diamond's Are Forever. He then announced he would never play Bond again. Hence the title of what did indeed become his last Bond movie, one that was incidentally based on a story for which the original series producers didn't have control -- the story on which the book and movie Thunderball is based, and one of two non-Eon Bond films. The other is the 1967 version of Casino Royale

cz target.jpg

Finally got a break in between teaching long range shooting classes and got to run a few rounds through the CZ. This is my first card at 50 yards using Lapua Midas L, 5 shots each bull, for a 45,45,44,42 & 41. I believe a change in lighting caused the lower impacts on bull 4 & 5. All in all pretty happy with this.

My one CZ took a little longer to get a decent group on paper , I shot about 80 rounds then an extensive cleaning then after 20 to 30 or so it started shooting way better. Keep at it , mine likes SK standard plus or RWS match.

I've actually had better accuracy on avearge from my 40X rifles than the 52's I've owned. But in a sporter weight rifle, I'd take a 54 action Anschutz over them all.

If we are talking heavy barrel guns from both makers....64 MPR or 54 Match......yep everytime. Of course we may be splitting hairs here, I like CZ's.....and they do well for the price, but they are no Anschutz.

I guess the point I was making with all of this wasn't so much what is the technically the better rifle but that a comparable rifle could be made for much less money given the abilities of most people. I can't shoot my 52C, my 40x or custom action rifles any better than the CZ in position shooting.
