I do not get to Walmart much, once in the last year..But my local Boomgars had it yesterday for 16.00 a box..I have tried to understand why people are paying crazy prices for ammo..Have not yet figured it out and gave up trying...But by July or so the shelves will be overflowing again..Prices dropping at the retail level too.You heard it here first, many times probably.

Local Atwood’s just had 400 or so boxes for $14 today! Maybe it will start showing up at more places!

UPDATE: The trend downward has ended weeks ago. 17HMR ammo has gone thru the roof and shows no sign of getting better. The odd supply will pop up occasionally, but rarely, sells quickly and NEVER a bargain.

My local Walmart had 200 count boxes of A17 ammo on the shelf this morning. First !7 HMR I have seen in a looooooong time. IIRC the price was $52 and change. This store has been getting a regular supply of rifle ammo. It still sells out in notimeium, but at least it's there.

I just bought five boxes on line today from Outdoor Limited. I think it was $24.95 a box of fifty of Hornady 17g V-Max.

So 50 cents a pop. Whew. Getting up there. 4 misses on squirrel cost $2.
Times have changed.
I bought federal 22 shorts as a kid for 60 cents a box of 50 rounds.

Better yet. Try to kill 2 with one shot.
I have done that before once.
Took several years though.

Almost happened few days later. Strange.

My local WM has had the 200 round A17 boxes as well the last few times I was there for right around $50. For some reason it cost more to buy one 200 round box than four 50 round boxes of the same ammo........

Walmart had two boxes of CCI for $13.8?/50 which I gladly relieved them of about 2 PM today. No other rimfire or centerfire, just a few cases of 12 ga. dove loads and some 20 buckshot.

Man, I sure miss saying dove AND QUAIL loads, but haven't seen any quail in ages.

Local Walmart had the CCI 50 rounders for $13 and change and the A17 for around $52. Couple boxes of Remington in 30-06, 243 and 308 if I remember correctly!
