Things I dig:
Lightweight
Great threads
Rigid stock
Quite accurate with one rushed range session.
30moa rail is a nice touch.

Things I don’t like:
Trigger should go lower than it does. (2lbs 5oz) the lowest I can get. Seen the trigger mod thread. Not interested in dropping another $100 for a trigger…

The bolt is fairly rough and can be hard to close. My guess is match chamber is why.

I’m not in love with the magazine release, because we’ll I’m CZ spoiled.

Where’s my test target?

Anyhow I rushed a scope onto the rifle and set down for almost 100 rounds getting on paper and getting zeroed. It’s more accurate than I anticipated.

Sk was pretty quiet out of the Ruger silent sr. Eley was next quiet. The Eley edge 1068fps broke the sound barrier almost every shot. It was the most accurate round for me.

Pics

Overall I’m pleased. It’s gonna get nasty weather squirrel duty along with dog hunting duty.

The question I have for y’all is what color cerakote does it get to go best with the gray stock??

Armor black...

Hard bolt closure is definitely due to the match chamber, every load I used was engraved on closure, good news is none showed any damage from feeding, not in love with the mag release either but I'm not going for speed so no big deal, the 10 and 5 round mags load easily which is a plus. Not going to be the do all and end all for sure but another viable offering.

Curious about this statement:

“The Eley edge 1068fps broke the sound barrier almost every shot. It was the most accurate round for me.”

The speed of sound approximates 1,125 fps.

Thus I do not understand, Eley is purposely kept under the speed of sound.

Please explain,

Thanks,
Fritz

To my ears you got the sonic crack of the round every time it was fired. I’m no expert but that’s what I experienced. I haven’t tried it with any other cans yet.

Their intended, out of their test barrel may not be the same as your rifle in your setting. Supersonic also varies by altitude as the higher altitude from sea level the lower sound barrier. Temperature also impacts it with the lower the temperature the lower the sound barrier.

I think the Sniper Grey Cerakote that Bergara put on the B-14 Wilderness Ridge rifles
would look great with your stock.

BMR initial impressions - bolt

Picked up a BMR Carbon at LGS, just had one on the shelf and I was shopping for an NRL22 setup. Added a 4-24 Db Tac to it, can't wait to shoot it. One thing I noticed is that they STAMPED the part numbers etc, raised up, on the bottom portion of the bolt that it sits on to slide. Filed that off to smooth things a little.

If you want to help your bolt, get some ProShot Gold grease, that stuff makes my bolt guns super smooth, also my 1911.

Thinking about one in a 17HMR for a short range prairie dog unit--
Interesting to see more input on these
