I've been called worse than misguided.

It's way too complicated for me. Takes the fun out.

Complicated?

Rifle, bullet, 100 yards, paper target, bullseye, aim, squeeze.

That's complicated? I don't think so.

Thinking up a snappy comeback, now that's complicated.

I grabbed one of the leftover targets from last year
and shot it this weekend. See? It ain't complicated.
100 yards, send 2, adjust the crosshairs, fire for effect.

Here's how I look at it...

When the rules take up more room on my computer screen than the target, and I have to send my target to someone else to score because all those thousandths of an inch really matter in a fun match, it's too complicated.

Simple is both the 25 yd, and 50 foot Green Monster matches. Shoot it, score it, post it.

Plus I don't have to walk as far.

That's just me, though. You guys have at it. I'll continue to follow the antics.

P.S. As an afterthought....when I first got the idea for a 100 yard match, I really didn't think there would be much interest...maybe a couple, 2 or 3 guys a month. I had absolutely no idea folks were interested in shooting a rimfire outside of 25-50 yards. I can't shoot that close, it's too claustrophobic for me. No matter what, though...I still haven't come up with as cool a prize as DJ used to give out....sterling silver .22 round. I'd have died to get one of those....then one day, I got one. One of my prized possessions.
This place is akin to that one house in the neighborhood that all the kids like to hang out. Bob is that cool mom that makes the really good cookies!

Post #615 in april 100 yard match. I don't know how to link to here.

Its up to the guy scoring, but the center of the hole is still the center.

David

Now that sounds like a clever idea....

Speaking of age.. When is that big day that you vault ahead of Jaia for a couple of months? I think we need to know when to say happy birthday.

You guys are cruel....lol

Hey, Jaia....just remember, yours in only a couple months away!!!!

That statement takes me back more years than I would like to admit. The house in the neighborhood was ours but I have to admit the cookies were Grandma's.

Hey, aren't Memorial Day and Mother's Day just a week apart? I need to check my calender.. LMAO.

Maybe start including these with the prizes

It's funny you didn't think there would be much interest in 100 yard shooting. I don't have anything less than 50 yards available to me, 25 just seems like a yawn... maybe if ya need to get a new rifle/scope on paper? Try some offhand practice? Over on another forum I hang out on, Canadian Gun Nutz, we have an ongoing 50 yard 1/2" challenge for .22 LR. Open to all makes and models, just shoot five 5-shot groups all under half inch at 50. Even that has become a bit of a yawn to me, the only hard part is buying an accurate rifle and finding the ammo it likes.

Now 100 yard shootin'? Challenges me to really dial in and tweak my rifle for best performance, find that special lot of ammo, improve my shooting technique and learn the wind. Plus we all get to hang out here in the loony bin

Hey Rabid, check out the Current Standings....click on that link and tell me what happens......I finally did it....

Great video and narration. My wife got a kick out of your belching...lol

Where I grew up, it was out in the sticks....I had a really old guy for a neighbor...some of us in the neighborhood who were, I guess I should say, probably in need of some parental supervision, used to hang out there....he'd let us blow off dynamite in the woods across the street, shoot whatever he currently had available...we probably drank and smoked a little, maybe a lot. We had fun. Today. that old guy would probably be put in prison...lol

Rick, we'll keep Mother's Day open for Don or Zorrow......

Woohooo! Works perfect, Bob

Now.. I did excuse myself... that is the unfortunate side effect of consuming highly carbonated fermented malt beverages
