I've got a couple of the 556 kits and the one thing that bothered me was skinny barrel sticking out and the front barrel cover they provide. Mine was off at about the 12:02 position and I took it off, never did use the bayonet. I had to come up with something and didn't want to load the front down with a bull barrel at about 3-3.5 lbs. So I installed different barrel shrouds. I have sold the desert tan but still have 2 blacks.

Were did you get those barrel shrouds? I like them a lot.

New Toy

I think this is a new shape. The barrel used with this rifle is 20 inch. I thought the factory tapered, 16 inch seemed a little bit too short.
