Is the original T series with the adjustable front objective preferred over the newer ones with the side focus? The reason I ask is that I saw an ad for a 24X with the side focus for what seems to be a more than attractive price but don't know much about them.
I have a number of Weaver T-24 and T-36 scopes and HAD a XR-36. The XR would not focus any closer than 50 yard and I thought the image quality was terrible.
Sent of to another shooter after I related this info to him.

I concur. Had a XR-36 and sent her back too. Very disappointed in the optic quality.
Thanks, it was listed for $100 OBO so didn't know if it was a misprint or something wrong with it. To far away to drive to just take a look and didn't want to take a chance even for $100 if they are a dud.
