Is there a Kimber of Oregon model 82 22 lr rifle model B/A? End of original box has B/A written on it. Could it be B Action maybe?

B/Action sounds correct. Rear of bolt has reduced size end cap and one piece swept back bolt handle.

It is possibly a Barrel Action.

I see the OP is from The Klamath Falls area. Coincidentally, Hush, myself and Sage whacked about 500 squirrels there a few years ago.

After that rat shooting trip, I fined myself $.01 at Rotary for every rat we shot. I paid $21.35.

Come to find out the bolt handle is a straight 90 degrees off the bolt body so itís an A action. So quite possibly it could have been a barreled action in the box at one time. It will be a mystery.

What is a "barrel action?" I don't know as I have heard that term before.

Barreled Action: an action with the barrel installed but no stock.

Now that you explained it, I guess I have heard the term before. (Just another one of those "senior lapses.") Thank you.

in your defence [i also have these senior moments] i did not and would not have jumped to the B/A as barreled action but it does make perfect sense now that it was mentioned

I think the barreled action idea is likely a good one and how it was originally shipped. The stock is a Super America style stock with the later non-fluted cheek piece, which probably was assembled onto the metal later.
