A few of us met up for an unofficial air rifle practice session yesterday afternoon/evening. Light winds kept things interesting during the first match (Target rifle) but slowly slacked off during the next two

Match #1, NRA Air Rifle resettable, yards
Date: 5-7-20

Round #1, Target Rifle:
Class: AAA
Anschutz 2002 SuperAir
JSB Diablo Exact RS (7.33) pellets
Sightron BigSky @ 24X

Chickens - 6
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 4
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 24

Round #2, Sporter Rifle:
Class: Master
Air Arms TX200 Mk-III
Weaver V-24 @ 24X
Air Arms Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 7
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 31

Round #3, Open Rifle:
Class: AAA
Air Arms HFT 500
Weaver T-24
Air Arms Heavy (10.34) pellets

Chickens - 8
Pigs - 10
Turkeys - 9
Rams - 10
TOTAL - 37

Woo-hoo! One point behind my all-time high from March, but since the NRA competitions division is closed down for the next few months the scores don't count.

Unofficial smallbore practice with the guys.

NRA steel, meters
Anschutz 1710
Leupold Vari-X III / Premier boosted scope @ ~30X
SK Rifle Match
Date: 5-13-20
Class: AAA/AAA

Round #1
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 9
Turkeys - 5
Rams - 5
TOTAL - 27

My one miss on Pigs was in the hole between the legs. Not so great on the Turkeys or Rams.

Round #2
Chickens - 9
Pigs - 8
Turkeys - 6
Rams - 8
TOTAL - 31

Better, happy with the score, even though I put another shot in the hole between the legs on Pigs again. Gotta work on that follow-through!

Also, really bummed that all US Silhouette Nationals got cancelled yesterday. The only big match on my calendar now is the Mexican Nationals in October. Sure hope that one doesn't get cancelled too.

Round #1

Stupid mistakes on the Pigs, made up some ground on Turkeys, fell apart again on Rams.

Round #2
Chickens - 8
Pigs - 7
Turkeys - 8
Rams - 7
TOTAL - 30

Much better, although still having problems with the Pigs.

Wednesday air rifle practice with the guys. We got a "warm-up" for summer with the heat index at the range at 103 degrees!

Since the NRA isn't taking scores everybody is just shooting whatever rifle they like, so I shot my Sporter for the first match and my Open rifle for the next two.

MATCH # 1- Yards
DIVISION-Hunter
SHOOTER CLASS-"AA"
FIREARM- CZ 452 Silhouette
OPTIC- Weaver V-24
AMMO- CCI SV

Chickens.....4

Pigs...........8

Turkeys......4

Rams.........6

I have been gathering and splitting firewood since mid January, and I wanted to get it all in before Memorial Day. I now have 18 full cords, split and stacked. That did not leave much time to shoot, though I did manage to get a few Off-Hand sets in.

I am a 'lil surprised that I broke 20. Pretty happy with that score.
